But will they do a full tour of Aus later in 2014 or is BDO it for the year?

I bought tickets to the 2nd show at sydney bdo, but that got cancelled. So they gave me the option of getting a refund or use the ticket to go to bdo day one, which is on the same day as Australia Day. I decided to get a refund simply not go at all because I know I'll get racially abused at that place like last year when I went to see the chili peppers and pretty damn sure it will be much worse this year. I don't wanna hear "go back to where you came from" especially since I was born and raised in Australia. Call me crazy for wanting to go again in the first place but it's pj but yeah going there on Australia Day with drunkens teens, no thank you.

Fuck dude that is terrible to hear! I come from a country that was steeped in racist shit but that happens rarely these days. Very disappointed to hear that. What the hell is happening in some parts of the world? We seem to be going backwards. I have been in the US for 2 weeks and all you have to do is watch Fox News to realise that that shit is alive and well!

That's terrible mate. I don't know you from a bar of soap, but you're more Aussie than those people who said that. That is un-Australian. What about a fair-go. Or 'for those who come across the sea, we've boundless plains to share'

I hate that you've had a bad experience and is stopping you from seeing your favourite band.

    That's awful, man.

For what it's worth, I've never had experiences like that at the Adelaide BDO. You could always make the trek down to SA! It's not the best environment to see a band at the best of times but I've been in recent years to see Neil Young and Soundgarden and I've still had a good time.

I know what I am about to say is easier said than done. Mate you should go to the show, if you don't those who racially vilified you win, they get exactly what they want. Get a heap of friends together and go rock out to your favourite band. If you dont have anyone to go with I have a group of people going and you can tag along with us. Just think about it and don't let them win.

A few side shows would have been terrific ... i'm still trying to decide if I can tolerate BDO ... not my kind of scene at all and the very thought is making me wince. Id had held out a little hope that just maybe there might have been a few side shows announced ... disappointing but such is life

I am sorry to hear people are so rude and ignorant. I think this year might be different, ticket sales are really slow. I don't think there will be too many younger drunken ones there. Especially since the line up has 2 older bands (young ones aren't really into Blur & Snoop). There isn't a real big draw card for the younger ones, and a lot can't afford the $185 ticket.

I really think you should go you can meet up with people from the 10C, see thread: http://community.pearljam.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=214414

I really didn't want to go to the BDO out either, but I really want to see PJ, so I am going & I am getting very excited about it, especially after reading all the fan reviews of the US tour.

Sorry that you had to put up with racial abuse, that is terrible! Please don't let those dipshits stop you from going to enjoy music. You have every right to be there!

I'm not a fan of the big day out either, but I'll be there for PJ.

    Oh my god!! :o
I am so sorry that that happened to you! That's f-ing disgusting! It really makes the rest of us look like a bunch of dumb arse meat heads. :fp: I hope that if you do decide to go to another BDO in the future, I understand completely if you don't but if you do, you have a much more positive experience. I really can't stand the BDO but I'm willing to suffer through it to see PJ.

thanks for the positive comments you guys,it seriously means a lot.

i will have a think about buying tix again for sure. and tagging along with fellow ten club members would be awesome! coz every gig i have been to i have gone by myself since everyone that i know doesn't like what i listen to lol. so that would be a nice change.

although i just spent money on the nine inch nails + QOTSA and the melvins gigs, once i can find 185 bucks somewhere i will most likely buy BDO tix. you guys are right, and at the end of the day its PEARL JAM, how could i say no?!?!

    :D
