Phone manners

Hi, does anyone know who it is on the phone when you ring 10C?!
I rang from NZ this morning.. A toll call... The phone was answered by a guy, who I found to be abrupt and rude. Does anyone know an email for his manager?!
I've been left feeling like arse, and that I really put the guy out. I apologised as I know they're busy as hell... But I was nothing but nice...
Feeling disheartened...

Better off sending an email. Can't imagine what was so important that you made a toll call from NZ. Either way, customer service is number one in my book and apparently whoever it was needs some more training.

My wife has called them once. It was a woman I believe and she had a delightful chat with her..

I am not always pleasant on the phone at work either, everyone has a bad day sometimes...

I've called in a couple times and was treated very well, even though one of the calls was right during the PJ20 ticketing debacle.

If the guy was a prick, maybe send Tim Bierman a PM. (He's still 10c president, right?)

Based on the responses, it's 2 polite to 1 rude.

The Americans that I know are quite the opposite. Very obliging, well mannered caring people. This post was not about the general behaviour of a country's people, but the phone manner of a business representative. Regardless if race, creed or gender.

I concur. I deal with people via phone, email and IM every day and I am polite as can be. Please don't put everyone in the same category because you've dealt with a few unmannered US people in the past!

I totally disagree. Customer service in the US is generally very good compared to other places in my experience. Certainly generally better than in Canada, and aren't we supposed to be a very polite bunch?? Most people I have dealt with at US companies and businesses are absolutely and noteably lovely and friendly. And once in a while you get a dud. But in my experience, Americans are very very friendly compared to other nationalities, in completely general terms of course. But in the end, it's the same all over the world - some people are awesome, some people are assholes, and the rest are somewhere in the middle. But as far as customer service goes overall, I think the USA holds it as a relatively high priority..... too bad 10c phone guy didn't live up to that standard though! It does definitely bother me when customer service people are rude. And conversely, when they are really nice and friendly and helpful, it can make my day. :)

No way. It had to be Boom. They make him work the phones because he's only a part-timer onstage.

Plus, we all know how rude and uptight those Hawaiians are...

I've never called them but I have emailed a couple times over the years. They've always been prompt and friendly. But honestly, I don't think i've had correspondence with them in the last 5 years.

I kind of miss the days when they handled the Ten Club ticketing 'themselves'. I know that had to be labor intensive and expensive. But, it definitely added a true personal touch to the TC experience.
