    notes: This performance was very difficult for Pearl Jam and many in the crowd due to the discovery of Kurt's death that day. A very tense and emotional show. Ed remarked, "... we are elevated a little more than usual, either that or I've gotten taller. I don't think it's a very good thing to elevate yourself. I think it would be a very dangerous thing... sometimes, whether you like it or not people elevate you ... whether you like it or not, and it's very easy to fall. So.. uh.. I don't want to be the messenger, somebody who delivers bad news, you know. Kill the messenger, but I don't think any of us would be in this room if it weren't for Kurt Cobain ... 1,2,3,4.." Incredible version of 'Even Flow.' Despite the sadness and misery hanging over this show, the songs were powerful and intense. By the end of the night the mood changed with the music bringing everyone together and creating strength. People started leaving after 'Indifference' as the lights went down, and started running back in when they closed powerfully with 'RITFW," playing like they couldn't stop.

    I've been following this thread for 3 months. Great job by everyone for sharing so much music. I've yet to see a pair of shows I need though. The first is 7/16/98 Sacramento and the other is 3/18/05 Seattle. I was at both these shows and have yet to find a copy of either. If someone could help me out that would be great. I've been to 22 shows and these are the only two I'm missing.

    Noted. On your tip I decided to checkout my downloaded version (I've been listening and making notes to shows primarily from '91-'98, the 2000 tour, and very recent shows ('05 and '06 shows from the first page), so the 2003 tour has taken a backseat for the moment. (Which is the economical way to go, if you don't want to suffer ridiculous prices on e-Bay). If I pay $80 for a CD an album, it'd better be made of solid gold and include nude pictures of Traylor Howard or Parker Posey... someone cute.

    The 06-21-03 I have is also screwy... it sounds like the source disc must have had some scratches or was flawed when it shipped (it DOES happen to CDs and DVDs). At about 5:33 into "Even Flow", the skipping starts, and continutes the next track (and last song on the first disc), "Daughter".

    Kudos, friend. These helped. I'm still have trouble with that damned "Given to Fly" from the Virginia Beach show, it just does not want to be un-rar'd. I get the .met file fine, just missing the one song. It continues to elude me. All part of life's rich pageant, I reckon...

    I won't hate you for it. I don't know if you have some morbid curiosity, attended the show, or just want EVERYTHING. I don't have it, and I don't want it. I've heard half a dozen shows where Ed stops the show if he thinks someone is in trouble, so the fact that it eventually happened (and the band played on for a bit) is just too much for me.

    For the same reason I won't download part of the Green Habit compilation, since one of the discs has a live version of "Arc". I didn't attend the shows, I never heard it live and if I never do, that's fine. The band left them off the boots for a reason, and I'm suited with the album version. It's just me. Maybe it's because I'm American and we've got these social mores and taboos concerning mortality, we're just not as open about it as some nations.

    Timroth thanks soooo much!!! I have been looking for this show for some time, I was there that night and it was an amazing show. Cheers to you and looking forward to reliving that great night this weekend with the boot.

    I'll admit it...I'm relatively a new Pearl Jam fan, continuing to sort out my favorites and such. I just turned 18, and I'm at a point in my life where everything seems hard. Music, in particular Pearl Jam, is one of the few things that can keep a smile on my face. Guys, please understand that all of the work you are putting into this is being felt. When I first discovered this I almost cried as I didn't think such a thing existed. Such a great documented life of one of the great live bands ever. I love you all so much for this. I actually feel guilty not having anything at all to contribute other than my undying gratitude.

    Also, I was just wondering if anyone had the Storytellers taping of this year in its entirety. Thanks so much for everything.

    If I recall, the %20 is just character code for a space in the file name. You can change the file names after you unzip/unrar the files into a folder on your hardrive. Just replace the %20's with spaces or underscores or whatever you prefer filing them as.

    Some people utilizing this thread are on PCs, some are on Macs. I'm on a PC, so i just used a handy link in this thread to insert a .dll file in my Winamp folder... and I can play all the shows in Winamp. If I wanted to play the files in Windows Media Player, I'd have to use an application to convert them to mp3s first... there's links to such files in this thread:

    I'm on a PC! Many of us are! I hated Macs growing up, was forced to use them in high school computer lab (circa '96-'97), and now I feel like they're the Cadillacs of computers. You gotta work with what you have, I reckon. Help is out there somewhere!
