Seems to me they're repeating a ton of core songs. Don't have data to back that up but it sure seems that way.
Also ignoring portions of the catalog.
Not sure how that signals "farewell tour". I don't think it means that.
I think the band is better this tour than they've been in years. This album is the best in a decade. I don't think they are done anytime soon.
Have you been to any shows this tour?
From vids and Wrigley, i thought ed sounded better than he has in a long time. really improved. just wanted to see if that was consensus, or just my wishful thinking
Had to edit this after I re-read:
I completely agree that Ed sounds better than he has in years

farewell tour? are you all kidding? they just came out with an album weeks ago. pop a Xanax people
"We're fortunate to have an open field, and the reason we have it is as much because we've had support from people who have listened over the years. So we try to navigate that responsibly, but keeping them in mind pretty much at all times. Figuring out the balance of the relationships. It's a really interesting, mostly positive relationship. If that continues, and we continue -- if that grows and we grow -- at some point the healthiest thing might be to not play. Or maybe even just ... sabbatical is a great word, I think. I can't wait to use it someday."
the guy also promises that theyll be touring again real soon at shows and don't come back to cities for years. what he said isn't set in stone. if anyone thinks right after putting LB out and doing these shows they're just going to say see ya later, you are outside of your mind.

It took me 20 years to see Oceans for the first time (Columbus 2011) and now 3 of my last 6 shows. DeLuna and Brooklyn
No need to be void,... or save up on life...

Whats with all the doomsday talk? Go start another thread. Weird reaction to good set lists. Ed said they were gonna mix up the stetlists more at the town hall event.
This isn't it, no way. not yet. but it's getting close. I think the over/under on # of future full, standard, 1/2 rock, 1/2 chill albums is 2.5. I think the over/under on # of year touring in this same fashion/pattern is 7. most of it depends on how much Matt is going to participate in Soundgarden moving forward.
after that, I can see a change into a much more chill existence. smaller records, smaller tours, smaller venues, smaller sets. they can't be the Stones and be these skeletons rocking in slow motion. it just won't work. a PJ show isn't a PJ show (as we know it) without crazy unbridled energy. at a certain point, it's just not going to be possible.
eventually they will just slide into seated shows (a la Benny Hall) where the loudest, most rockin thing will be a Mike electric solo in Immortality or NAIS amidst an otherwise acoustic performance. future new songs will mostly be more in the Just Breathe / Future Days mold on the slow side, and Infallible on the "fast" side.
do I think you'll still get Deep, Habit and Comatose 3-5 years from now? yeah. but not 7-10 years from now, no.
BTW, don't think I can manage Voodoo. :( Animal emergency this week...
Hope everything works out for your animals...
Can you give the Voodoo tickets to your family in Florida??
:ugeek:
No, would have to pick them up at will call with my ID....want to go so bad!!!
Didn't know if you had any "Special Privileges" since they were from the contest you won!! BUMMED you can't make it to New Orleans...I know you were looking forward to seeing 3 shows this tour!!

"Doomsday" is a bit much I guess  but, really, I think they're just approaching the setlists a bit differently and it shows.

No disrespect intended, but the bands been pulling out set lists like these the last few years, no reason to think it implies anything more than Ed knows now more than ever how to piece incredible sets together.
I will say that for me, tonight is among the best they've ever done.
