Not sure how that signals "farewell tour". I don't think it means that.
I think the band is better this tour than they've been in years. This album is the best in a decade. I don't think they are done anytime soon.
Have you been to any shows this tour?
From vids and Wrigley, i thought ed sounded better than he has in a long time. really improved. just wanted to see if that was consensus, or just my wishful thinking0 -

I think this tour will revitalize them, if anything! They are all in top form...and with all the love, all the history, and all of the music we/they love, I sure hope they continue. Sure, they have other priorities now but don't we all. With them, I don't think they could just stop...they are too creative and are at their best, IMHO, of course. It never has been, that's exactly my point. They only added 12 songs to this tour. Of all the songs I wanted to hear I knocked 4 off my list in 2011-2012 and 3 were at PJ20, I knocked at least 7 off my list last week. To me, it seems like they're purposely pulling shit out that they almost never play. I sincerely hope I'm wrong, it's just the way I feel after seeing the shows and watching the setlists.
Right. I've knocked songs off my list after two shows. Fatal and Other side? Yes please. Very happy with the set lists and I think there will be more of them!0 -

This isn't it, no way. not yet. but it's getting close. I think the over/under on # of future full, standard, 1/2 rock, 1/2 chill albums is 2.5. I think the over/under on # of year touring in this same fashion/pattern is 7. most of it depends on how much Matt is going to participate in Soundgarden moving forward.
after that, I can see a change into a much more chill existence. smaller records, smaller tours, smaller venues, smaller sets. they can't be the Stones and be these skeletons rocking in slow motion. it just won't work. a PJ show isn't a PJ show (as we know it) without crazy unbridled energy. at a certain point, it's just not going to be possible.
eventually they will just slide into seated shows (a la Benny Hall) where the loudest, most rockin thing will be a Mike electric solo in Immortality or NAIS amidst an otherwise acoustic performance. future new songs will mostly be more in the Just Breathe / Future Days mold on the slow side, and Infallible on the "fast" side.
do I think you'll still get Deep, Habit and Comatose 3-5 years from now? yeah. but not 7-10 years from now, no.
just my opinion, what I've been thinkin0 -
