Cornell version of Footsteps

I thought it was awesome, really liked the way CC sang it and the banjo was a cool touch. If you watch it hoping for it to be better than the original then of coarse you are going to be disappointed, the original leaves no room for improvement

So good! Thank you!where it takes me.0 -
That was a great rendition of Footsteps, adding different instruments and Cornell's vocals were amazing.Post edited by dmaradona10 onLas Cruces, NM Pan Am Center September 14, 1995

I was at Cornell's show at Benaroya on Sunday night. I have seen Sound Garden numerous times through out the years. The 1st time was in 1994 and the last time was in 2011. And I must say on Sunday night his voice has never sounded better. Just flat out amazing. It was my 1st time seeing him solo and was really impressed. I never thought I would see him perform Seasons. So that alone was worth the ticket. But his version of Man of Golden Words from Mother Love Bone was amazing. Also he played the music of U2's song One, but sang the lyrics of Metallicas One to it. Talk about a great mind fuck!!!

Absolutely stunning. Even better than I thought it was gonna be.

If you haven't seen the Songbook tour yet...my goodness. Just you wait.
"Footsteps" was right in Cornell's wheelhouse. He's covered "Better Man," as well, which would be...weird, but Chris Cornell could walk on stage and make fart noises for two hours and I'd still think it's the best thing ever.

He didnt play it Sunday in Seattle. But maybe he will tonight. Enjoy the show. I was so impressed. I have the Songbook album and really like it. But to be there was on a whole other level. I think he played right at 3 hours maybe a few minutes short. And if I counted right he perfromed 29 songs. His cover of Dear Prudence is so great. And his reworked versions of SoundGarden songs on acoustic guitar are so cool. Chris always gets praise for his voice, but the guy is an incredible guitar player as well....0 -
Holy Shit!
I love Dear Prudence!!!!
I saw him on his last Songbook tour and it was incredible!
The cool thing about a tour like this is you have no idea what he is going to play.
That's awesome that he is playing so many songs!
I'm having a couple and listening to Temple of the Dog on vinyl.

Cornell killed it! Not a fan of the Avett Brothers so wasn't too keen on the arrangement but Cornell's vocal was as good as ever.I've been fortunate enough to see Pearl Jam live.
I am hanging in the balance of a perfect finished plan

A little bummed about the Avett Bros contribution. They didn't do a bad job just would've liked to have seen what they did with a more up beat song.0

Not to join a negative band wagon but I was distracted in the beginning by his timing. He seemed a little off or didn't hold notes as long. His voice sounded great and I thought it got better but I prefer Ed's singing. Overall ok for a cover.

I thought it was pretty damn good. Avetts didn't add much but a pretty redundant banjo part. How long before we hear it as a duet?

Love Ben Harper on Indifference, though.

Man, Cornell could do no wrong. I would have much preferred just him and an acoustic guitar. Also, thank God he quit smoking. He sounds fantastic today.Shows: 6.27.08 Hartford, CT/5.15.10 Hartford, CT/6.18.2011 Hartford, CT (EV Solo)/10.19.13 Brooklyn/10.25.13 Hartford

Ben Harper & EV doing Indifference in NZ 2009 is seriously my 2nd favorite version of that song. If I had heard that first it might've been my absolute favorite. I loved it.. loved it... loved it

not that there was anything wrong with chris's performance at all. it was glorious. but you just can't beat mr vedder.0
