I am from Belgium and we don’t hear a lot of Pearl Jam in this country normally (aside from the occasional “ten”-song or just breathe) and most of my friends even say “who?” when I am talking about my favorite band. (Bless them they’re still young and have so much to learn! :p )

BUT to my great astonishment people started posting Sirens and MYM on facebook… so I decided to ditch the CD’s for a day and turned on the radio. And lo and behold… PEARL JAM on the radio! And I don’t mean the old songs. Nooooooooo MYM and Sirens! On the radio… frequently!

So now everybody is like… “hey that new song on the radio… isn’t that the band you are always freaking out about? They’re gooooood!” I always feel kind of proud when I hear things like that. Weird! I know! :p

But all of the above to get to the point that today I even discovered that Sirens is the new number one in “De Afrekening” which is kind of a weekly top 30 of the best songs of the moment. I admit I cheered a little when I found out. Way to go Pearl Jam!

Oh and also “Future days” was used on the latest episode of Grey’s Anatomy… look at the rambling above and imagine my reaction when I discovered this at our latest ladies-night! :D

Man I love this band!

I know! Here in Canada PJ's Siren was just featured on Hockey Night in Canada's Saturday night game at the top of the show. This is the largest national show in Canada. It would be like the opening for Monday Night football in the States. All through the game, I could hear in the background different songs from the new album playing at the Chicago arena the game was playing in. Awesome!
Funny, what I get here from people is "These guys haven't been around for years right?" Which I always do enjoy correcting them on.
"Feel the path of everyday....which road you taking?"

I still haven't heard anything from LB on Denmark's number one radio station - P3 - but a sister channel (p6 Beat) did a six!! hours long broadcast last Saturday only about PJ with a lot of the new songs revealed for the first time and a whole hour dedicated to the Vitalogy album. All through the broadcast there were bits of interviews with members from PJ. The broadcast can be downloaded as a podcast.
And he still gives his love,
    he just gives it away...

Unfortunately, new Pearl Jam isn't played very frequently on local radio stations here in central Illinois. However, Pearl Jam news articles seem to be all over the web nowadays. They seem to be getting a lot more attention with this new album then when Backspacer came out. I love it. And they (PJ) seem to be doing it all without compromising their "image" as this limited-press band. Good for them!
