Do Vinyl buyers get a free download of the album?
Why isn't the download available today????

    The download is available today.

I got the CD from 10C and ordered the vinyl from my local record store. Nothing against 10C but the next time I will probably get it all from my local indy owned store. I just like the store and the folks that work in it a lot.
  • I went and bought a few LB at Target this mornign for some people at work... just wanted to do something cool for some cool people, and was surprized that the CD is in the same booklet as the Ten Club version. I guess the video is the only difference. I paid for it along time ago... and got the CD early.. so Ive been listening to it the last couple of days at work like a mad man... love it. Its all good... your dammed if you do dammed if you dont..

as for the vinyl, i probably would've ordered through ten club regardless of anything. if you look on amazon, it's more expensive to the point where you aren't losing money by paying the high shipping cost. and i personally don't have any nearby record stores that will carry the vinyl. so no disappointment from me. just waiting for this thing to arrive. not today it seems.

Agree here 100%, nowhere local I'd get it on vinyl any cheaper anyway.

I'll always preorder vinyl direct from the 10C when a new album is released, but I was hoping for more digital content, and digital content availability on the local release date (if you pander to the rediculous staggered and segmented approach with physical product do with the official digital product).

As it stands, I'm waiting for myt 10C vinyl to arrive hoping the packaging is extra sweet or there is a bonus 7" or something (or for someone here to recieve their 10C vinyl first and post pics).
Terrible bonus digital content for fan club members? That's a paddlin'

    no,

for having pre-ordered the vinyl and I still don't have it what is the point? Yeah I got a download with one video at exactly the time of their timer, which was after Itunes.

Pj blew it on this one as far as release stuff. BUT the album is killer

    No.

    A) Early free iTunes stream.
    B) Only got it 3 days early.
    C) The 'digital conent' is nothing...not interested in 4 digital versions (AAC on iTunes is fine for me) and a video.

and the clincher on why it wasn't worth it...

    D) If the person in this thread who said the packaging was the same spoke correctly, then it won't be a 'Collector's Item' someday. I figured the retail version would be white, but sounds like it looks the same???

    Wasn't Avocado different?

Note, I did enjoy getting it 3 days early and not having to leave my house, but not sure if it was worth the S/H $. A bonus Ten Club only track would've been nice.

Had I the opportunity to do it over again, I would have just gone to Target. Instead, somehow, I spent $11.99 for the digital version of the album? Not sure I understand why or how I would have done that, when it was the same price for the CD (+ shipping, obviously). Can anyone explain that to me??

I had mentioned in another thread:

"people pay american airlines an extra $10 to board 15 minutes early. I paid 10c approx $6 for shipping and got LB 4 days earlier than the release date.

Receiving it the day that I had to drive from LA to San Diego in Friday evening traffic (Oct 11)... PRICELESS"

I would add that not having to go into a Target... PRICELESS

I received mine literally 20 minutes before I was hopping in the car on Friday to drive to Pittsburgh for the concert. It was awesome. I got to listen to it the whole drive (twice) before the show!! I felt like it was an omen that Pittsburgh was gonna be a rocking show and it was! It was worth the extra cost for me.

I can get the new record for $10 at Target. Should I even bother getting it from the 10C for 11.99 plus the overpriced shipping?

    Are the extras worth it?

    No, they aren't... however...
I bought it here because, no matter whom I buy it from:

1.- since I live in Argentina, I knew beforehand I wouldn't get it on the day of its release.
2.- I knew that it will cost me a lot, however, I knew 10C offered the best shipping rate since I only paid 5.38 for the vinyl and the CD.
3.- I pay analog membership for the anual wax and whatever may come along. I didn't expected this digital content so it was a bonus for me.
4.- taking into account all of the above, I decided to support not only the band but also the club.
5.- most record stores owners in Argentina are total douchebags, assholes and thieves: the price for a backspacer in Buenos Aires is around 100 dollars; moreover, the only record store who took part of record store day in Buenos Aires did it to appear on the list, I sent an email back in 2012 to ask which releases they have ordered and if by any chance they order EV LBC b/w Wishlist wax and they told me they had ordered very few items, but not EV single. They told me they could get one, but it would cost me 250 USD and I had to make a downpayment. I replied "no thanks, I can't get it from ebay myself". (by the way, I wrote to RSD people about this, I never got a reply from them)

another thing, packaging my be slightly different
... I am not in the business of being liked anymore ...

I'm a completely different dynamic to this conversation but I see all the sides of it

If it makes everyone feel better, I just received my 10C version of the LP today and live all the way on the other side of the planet..... Dallas, TX (before you judge, I'm not from here; I just relocated here like 94% of all the people in this strange place)

I'm not that put-out by it because I'm one of the nerds thats collected one copy of everything they put out on vinyl just as a cheap piece of memorabilia I'd eventually give my kids in an attempt to blow their minds. But if I was dying to rip into it and hear it for the first time ... I'd be pretty pissed.

At the risk of sounding lazy, I paid the extra money through the 10C because its easy and convenient...and I hate Target. I also thought that it would be different than the regular version; why else market it as '10C members version' or however it was worded. Anyone know if this is on red vinyl?!

The random insert of a postcard for 'Infallible' was fitting and a nice touch.

    NO.

1.) First off, there really is no "10C version". The physical product is the exact same thing as what's in the stores - otherwise, why would it come with a download code inside? We already got the files on release day - it's for people buying the record in stores to be able to download it after purchase.

2.) The postcards are apparently a random thing - I did not get one.

3.) The Mind Your Manners video accompanying the digital download is basically a rough edit of the video we've already seen...and it was on YouTube within 5 minutes. "Exclusive Digital 10C Content"? Yeah...OK.

4.) Shipping cost is a ripoff for the atrocity that is UPS/Mail Innovations.

After reading all this, I'm glad I just spent my money at target. I got LB and the new Metallica Album(2 cds for $9.99?! I thought Lars was a greedy SOB?) and my money stays in my local community.
