Guess The Pitchfork Score

Every album release they treat Pearl Jam as irrelevant has-beens and Pearl Jam's music doesn't really fit their demographic, yet for some reason they keep taking the time to review their albums.

So what mundane score will they give Lightning Bolt?

I'm going with 5.7

I'm going with 2.3 just because it is a random number and they will find a way to pick on songs like Sirens and Sleeping by Myself.

I'm honestly hoping they give LB a zero because I think it would be hilarious. Pitchfork is so silly... they're ok for new music recommendations but the reviews are extremely masturbatory.

that's right i remember seeing some of pitchfork's other (non-PJ) albums which i liked a lot and they gave them horrible scores. Probably 6.6 is being way generous

Yet, If Pearl Jam collaborated with Animal Collective for Lightning Bolt and it sounded exactly the same, they'd give it an 8.0.

Do they rate on a 1-10 scale? Then my guess is something around 4.8.

    Edit: Just saw this -
    5.0 it is

My guess wasn't half bad then, eh?

it deserves a 0.9, and the .9 is for the lame version of sleeping by myself. sorry folks...just admit it.

Pitchfork nailed it on this one.
    Love:

"Pearl Jam on record have essentially been reduced to the rock ‘n’ roll version of wearing sweatpants: they’ve given up trying to impress anyone, so they may as well be comfortable. "

    That about sums up LB

For a change, their write up is actually pretty fair. The sweatpants line is pretty spot on.

That being said, I enjoy LB more than a 5.0

We're talking about Pitchfork here, guys. If this album was made by a 21 year old dropout living in Brooklyn it would have had a 7.6 rating.
