When I hear the chorus to this very good Pearl Jam song, I can't help but be reminded of....okay here it is...it's just a mere observation and NOT a comparison ...Christina Aguilara's "Beautiful." There, I said it. Please show mercy on me.

    I can see it a little bit...funny thing is, "Beautiful" happens to be the one Christina Aguilera song I dislike the least.

    I (thankfully) can't recall how that song goes but I imagine there is some truth in what you say so I don't even want to look it up. It's sung in a preacher like way in some parts which is definitely odd for Ed. I don't know. First thing that came to mind was that he sounded like Macy Gray or something but then again I don't even know what she sings. Just popped in my head. It's certainly new territory for him but I don't mind. I love the song. There are a lot of vocal firsts on this one and I like them all. Happy with how fresh this record sounds.

    There are actually a lot of similarities chord wise!

    The chords to the chorus on Infallible if I am correct are: Ab major - Gb major - F minor - Eb major

    The chords to the chorus of Beautiful (note this is the first time I really sat down and listened to this tune) are: Ab major - F minor - Eb major


    So they are in the same key, start out with an Ab major chord and include a F minor going to a Eb major




    Sorry I had a music geek moment there :D The point is the chords are very similar. But of course Infallible is way way better ;)

    on first (and subsequent) listen, the end of the intro, before "keep on locking your doors", I thought "sounds like a Dr. Dre beat"

    love the song though...
