"Got to the arena around 8:45 am...."

That's as much as I read.

I read the rest of the thread as this topic fascinates me. To each his own on when you line up...if you don't drink (or are under 21), don't smoke, and don't have anything fun to do or place to hang out pre-show, then yeah...you may as well line up at the butt crack of dawn if it makes you feel good and you think getting crushed against a rail with assholes pissing on your feet sounds like fun, versus being a mere 5 or 10 feet back and free to actually move/escape.

That being said...I am over 21, I don't like lines, I like to imbibe, and I don't like to get crushed...so for me the smart money is showing up a few minutes before the gates open, finding one that isn't too long, and grabbing a beer before making my way to the pit to just soak up the atmosphere and not worry about if Ed can see my nose hairs.

As long as I'm close enough to can catch a guitar pick or something, I'll be happy. I don't want the front row...just the equivalent of 'top ten' (if there were seats).

Once again, if you fit the bill I mentioned above, then go for it...but if not, I think you are doing yourself and the rest of us a disservice. Nobody likes lines, so why get mixed up in that BS.

It said right in the 10C email that entry to GA at 6:30 doors open could be from ANY DOOR, so lining up was always pointless. Now, if they do decide to let a designated GA line in early, than that's different, but we need some communication and organization!

Thanks. Smart choice. If we all line up 30 minutes before the gates open, then everybody wins. Also...I'd like to add, if you are up front and have to piss...don't be an ass. Just make your way out to the damn bathroom when one of your least faves comes on. You had the front for a while and enjoyed it...everyone move up one spot and repeat. I thought PJ fans were cool, and when I hear about pissing in cups, well, that really pisses me off. :nono:

Im a big fan of seats. Never was a GA fan, even when I was in High School or college. I hope for a return to the rows 1-2 and 9-10 lottery. Glad most people are respectful. I wont tolerate people pissing next to me. Haha. Sorry, I'll tolerate shoving, screaming, smoking, even drugs but I draw the line at bodily fluids.

I DO wish more people would dance in the GA section, seats or not. Never understood how people could stand still. Or take blurrybvideos that you wont ever watch again. Live in the moment.

Lining up wasn't pointless. The people who got there super early and wanted front row ended up getting it, that isn't pointless. It's easy to have that opinion when you have hindsight on your side, but going into it, there's no way to know how long the lines will be at the other gates, or how close those other gates are to the floor access, or if the venue will know whats going on or if those gates will be functional that day. It's nice that tenclub emails u and gives u the plan, but ultimately its up to the venue on how u get let in, where u line up etc. Tenclub isn't out there enforcing it, the venue is. Shit happens, things can change by the day of the show.

I'm GA for Brooklyn next Friday. I'm working until 2pm and then will rush there.

I don't understand why anyone thinks getting there early assures anything. If you can get there at dawn and have the stamina to wait all day you should get the rail.

However why anyone thinks they can hold a position not on the rail, or not go pee or get a beer and not be able to get back baffles me.

I'm going as early as I can.
I will preshow at wishlist then head over for doors.

I will grab a beer walk around and enjoy myself.

When the lights go down I will try to get closer and rock out jumping around and playing air guitar.

If I piss u off I'm sorry. I've been to 78 pj shows and have never been closer than 6th row.

Im going to leave and return as I please and if you piss in a goddam cup next to me like an animal I'm probably going to "oops sorry" your piss cup all over your gross ass.

I hate this GA crap. I expect Brooklyn to be aggressive and dangerous with people like me who never even after almost 100 shows, got 1st 5 rows.

I love my fellow jammers but you can't claim floor space.

I dont have a problem with u lining up at a different gate, thats not the same thing as skipping through people who waited all day which was clearly happening. u still have to go through security at any gate and the people lined up at the closest gate to the floor access have the head start. if u werent in that first 40 or so people at the closest gate, then yes another gate was the smarter choice, depending on when u got there.
No one owns a spot in the pit. Everyone in there has equal rights to any spot, as long as they can manage to get there without hurting anybody.

BTW, this pissing in cups thing is absolutely disgusting. If anyone does that next to me, I'm calling security over and telling them you exposed yourself to me and are pissing all over the place so that they remove you, because that is fucking disgusting and there is no excuse for that kind of behaviour. Sorry, but no fan should be subjected to that. Pigs.

My group and I (4 of us) got their around 11ish and were between 25-30 people back, we got the rail right in front of Stone. It was a little bit elbow to elbow but not asshole to asshole at all, no one was even touching my backside at all, it was unbelievable. I also didn't see anyone pissing. Overall nothing could have worked out better, at first I would have said I would rather have been by Mike or Ed but Boom kept rocking out with me and my Dad and Ed gave me a tambourine so it was 100% perfect. Would defiantly do GA again, maybe not every show because it makes for a long day but once and awhile for sure.

I drink, over 21 smoke at shows...still lined up early because I wanted rail for this one. I can only speak for last night's show but I wasn't pushed at all, nobody I saw was pushed, crushed or anything like that. Nobody I saw was pissing in cups. Its not the 90s anymore the pit was cool.

So someone's an uncool ass if they dont give their spot up after they come back from pissing? Let me try to wrap my head around that one. Does this apply to seats? Here's how I imagine that... "Hey you had front row for most of the show, you went to piss now Im taking your seats, you got to enjoy it while it lasted now everyone moves up. Except u. U were front row so now u go back." :?:

    Sounds fair.

Uhh, yeah Fugawsi. That's how it works. They aren't assigned seats. You really don't understand the difference?? No one should expect to get back to the rail after leaving it. That is not how it works. You stand where you're able to stand. If a spot opens up ahead of you, you move up an take it. If you can find a way back up after taking a bathroom break, great. People are.usually cooler when you're getting back to your friend or spouse, but no guarantees. But what? You expect someone to hold your little spot on the floor while there are a thousand people behind trying to get closer?? You expect someone who won't even recognize you when you come back to move back for you? You're just another face in the crowd to most people there, not the special person who lined up all day. Sorry, doesn't work that way. That's GA. Obviously, if you can't handle that little fact of life, you're not cut out for GA I guess??

Who said anything about owning a spot? Obviously because there's no seats its up to people to police themselves and be courteous to each other in the process. Why is that such a controversial thing? Just because people arent being physically hurt doesnt make the inconsiderate behavior ok. What if fucked with someone at a show and just stand on my seat and block their view. Hey I own my seat right ? I can do what I want in that case to get a better view as long as I'm not hurting them physically.

When people just cut in front of other people without asking if it's ok, more than likely someone's view is gonna get compromised. I'll never get how anyone can do that and not feel like an asshole, I'm glad I was born with that filter.

There arent 1000 people trying to move ahead. Just the douchebags who feel so entitled who are a small fraction, most people are happy with where they end up. You don't have to move back to let me back through, just aside for 2 seconds. I just expect people to not be assholes that's all. and the good news is, you're in the minority most people dont feel the way u feel. We were able to leave and get back to the front row without any issues at all as I said before. people next to me got beers, and came back. I was fine standing on the rail for the whole show but If I wanted to I could have left and came back. The fact is there were people clearly cutting in front of other people, making bullshit excuses about why they were doing it because they knew it was fucked up.

Got to the arena around 8:45 am and there were already 9 or 10 people lined up for GA. The merch tent was set up outside one of the gates around 12:30 and of course the line was long as hell all day but it's still a great way to sell merch, since you can drop your stuff off to your car or hotel before going in.

Question, was everyone lined up all day or did people take turns? What I mean is, if I've got a pair in GA, can me and my buddy take turns in line during the day? Trying to figure out how to be lined up for GA and then break away to pick up tix, merch, food, etc.

I'm gonna be in GA for Bklyn 1. I think I will enter the floor sometime around 630ish, see which side has better space and go from there.
This doesn't need to be that complicated, does it?

That wasn't a problem at all, nobody expects you and buddy to stay in one spot all day long without moving. Once you've been there for a little while and claimed your spot you can go piss, go grab a quick sandwich, go get ur tix, go smoke a cig go smoke a joint, whatever. just dont disappear all day long and be surprised if people make a big deal about it when u get back.

Pushing someone out of the way and taking their spot or barging in front of them and blocking their view is inconsiderate behaviour. Filling an empty hole in the crowd is not. You were talking about how it's not fair to not be able to get your place at the rail back after going to the washroom, not someone stepping in front of you and blocking your view. So you really are talking about staking a claim to a spot.

I think these fan-created GA lineups are bullshit. Who gave those people the exclusive right to decide how GA etiquette works?? I'm glad it's GA entrance at every door for this tour. Maybe some people will get a grip and realize that being as close to the stage as possible and spending the whole show with a chip on their shoulder because some people they didn't happen to see in their lineup are up front isn't the best way to enjoy a show.

Hey u get there when u want, line up wherever u want, makes no difference to me. I'm just telling everyone my experience so maybe it can help them to know what to expect.

I specifically lined up super early because I didn't want anyone or anything besides a railing in front of me or blocking my view. I was right, I clearly saw other people moving up, blocking other people, but the farthest they got was to my back. It worked out for me, everyone can form their own strategy.
