He took me to my first PJ show (Denver 03) and I was proud to be with him at his last (Wrigley), as well as all the many we shared in between.     Light Years was one of his favorite songs, so this would be a very fitting tribute for him. I wish I could be in San Diego with Keli and Lacey, but unfortunately I can't afford any travel right now. I will definitely be buying the bootleg the second it is available, regardless if the band plays Light Years or not. Ryan and I saw PJ twice (03 and 06) and Vedder solo (2011) in SD, so I've always considered these "hometown" shows since we never got to see the band in any of the actual cities were living in.

    This was awesome to read! I only briefly met Ryan a couple times, and not until last year... but it turns out we were at some of the same shows in the past, probably not sitting too far from each other, either! When I talked to his wife in Chicago this summer, it turns out their house is just a few blocks away from the house my wife and I just moved into this summer. It is just kind of crazy to realize what a small world it is, and an even smaller Pearl Jam world when you start learning more about the fans.

    I hope this gets played. I think all of these petitions are really cool and it would be also really cool if Pearl Jam did end up listening to it. I know they dedicated a song to somebody at Wrigley and it would be cool if one or two of the songs for the shows could be done this way
