I was a Mike Tyson fan as well. I still vividly remember the night he got knocked out for the first time. It was my freshman year in high school and I went to a school dance that night. I set my VCR to record the fight, and I just expected it to be another tune-up for Mike. I came home that night and watched the fight. I was in complete shock watching Tyson get dropped for the very first time. I remember calling my grandparents of all people to tell them what happened. As a kid, I would watch a lot of Tyson's fights at my grandparent's house because they had HBO. I knew the night that he lost that they no longer had HBO. Because they were so familiar with Tyson, they were the first people I called to tell them about him getting KO'd. Tyson's first loss, Gibson's homerun with the Dodgers, and Magic's announcement are some of the bigger sports memories I have as a kid.0

I became a fan of Bill Buckner after 1986. I felt so bad for that guy.
Pick up my debut novel here on amazon: Jonny Bails Floatin (in paperback) (also available on Kindle for $2.99)0 -
Its a shame that Billy Buck will only be remembered for that error.JonnyPistachio wrote:I became a fan of Bill Buckner after 1986. I felt so bad for that guy.
He was a hell of a ball player.
2700 career hits, won a batting title, played on bum legs.
Had he played on good legs, he just might have gotten to 3000 hits, and been a Hall Of Famer.
But he will always be remembered for that error.Take me piece by piece.....

Shea Stadium felt like an earthquake was hitting it. I was right above the lower level which was suspended . Shit was bouncing a foot in the air during that last inning. Craziest moment at a stadium for me  .
My favorite athlete was Roger Staubach 8-)So, What you Giving ?........ (Thanks Speedy, Alesek, & Arq+friends)

So, my "10 Club" obsession started when I was born
And I'm not THAT old. To be honest they were just about retiring when I got to sport fandom consciousness (though I do remember as a 6 or so year old running around the house pretending I was the 2 of them depending on which ball I had).
I guess growing up, it would really be
