Vitalogy coming next week according to HDTracks Facebook page.
VS seems to be getting ok comments from the computeraudiophile forum. Might have to download that one one of these days. It's compressed, but not as badly as Ten.225xxx - 6/28/00, 10/20/01, 10/22/01, 9/11/06, 9/22/06, 9/23/06, 6/18/07, 6/26/07, 8/15/09, 6/25/10, 6/30/10, 7/4/12, 7/5/12, 7/7/12, 7/10/12, 6/26/14, 6/28/14, 7/3/18, 7/5/180 -

Ah, what just happened? Pearl Jam is not listed anymore over @ hdtracks.com. Ten, Ten Redux, Vs (Remastered) & Vitalogy (Remastered) 24 Bit Flacs were available for a while now. Now gone?

search "pearl jam ten", then the pearl jam titles come up. "Pearl Jam" by itself, nothing.Bristow 05132010 to Amsterdam 2 061320180

I have been doing all of my conversions of my vinyl and tape to 24bit 96khz FLACs using Sound Forge Pro for several years now. Using J River or WinAMP, I can play them natively at 24bit 96khz through my home theater setup or use the DAC setup to get them into the tube amplifier. If you don't have a digital output from your computer to an amp that can recognize those 96khz files or know what a DAC is, then you're probably wasting your money. Through headphones, unless they're super high end, WOM. Just my opinion.
It's next to it's IMPOSSIBLE to tell the difference between a straight CD and a 24bit 88kHz "HD Track".
On a blind test, 9 or 10 people couldn't tell the difference between a 128kb mp3 and a 24bit 88kHz "HD Track".
If you're using Windows and don't have Sound Forge Pro then Buy the 12 dollar CD and rip it using the highest quality Windows Media Player Lossless in WMP click tools and options and then
or set your prefs in iTunes to rip your CDs in Apple Lossless.
Or buy another copy of Ten.Post edited by ikiT onBristow 05132010 to Amsterdam 2 061320180 -

I have all the PJ releases and Mad Season 24 Bit Flacs from HDTracks. They are not highest 192kHz. Wonder what kHz ponomusic.com will offer.buck502000 said:Figured this is a good thread to revive with the hype surrounding PONO. Anyone download the available PJ selections from HDtracks?

They were. But if PonoMusic sells Ten, Ten Redux, Vs (Remastered) & Vitalogy (Remastered) in an ultra-high 192kHz resolution, then the HDtracks aren't worth it, and at that same price.buck502000 said:

What has happened to HDtracks.com? Releases are not available for download outside the USA anymore?
Seriously? My last purchase was Pearl Jam's Lightning Bolt from this site. http://www.hdtracks.com/pearl-jam-lightning-bolt . Still show's up in my profile of the purchase. Now if I click the album it say's .. "This product is not currently available due to region restrictions." And I downloaded this many months ago. The other 4 releases (Ten, Ten Redux, Vs Remastered & Vitalogy Remastered) 24 bit albums are ok to download outside of USA.
When did this happen where folks outside the the USA can't download tracks anymore? I just pray music that is available for purchase over @ PonoMusic.com won't be exclusive to USA.

just get a USB turntable and rip at 24 / 192. Sounds fantastic when you rip from vinyl0

HDtracks is having a "20% off 20 Essential Music Icons" sale, and the 88khz/24bit version of Ten has made the cut.

There are so many versions of Ten in the Hi-Res stores (HDtracks, Pono, etc.). Did anybody figure out which is worth buying?0 -

I bought all the 24Bit Flac releases over @ https://www.hdtracks.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=pearl+jam . Just before they made Lightning Bolt an exclusive to USA download for some stupid reason. Bought in when it was released. Few day's later they stop distributing the product. Totally lame. Since then I haven't bought any HD albums from HDtracks.
As for sound the 24bit 88kHz one is the one to get. I also got a Ten vinyl rip via 24bit 96kHz.0 -

I looked up the DR numbers on the Dynamic Range database here
http://dr.loudness-war.info/album/list?artist=Pearl jam
and none of the Hi-Res releases of Ten look all that promising. That vinyl rip might be best of all.0
