Sirens Video is actually live...
Did anyone notice that the audio in the Sirens video is actually different. On a second listen it struck me. It's much, much better than the studio version. Stone's guitar solo rif 2/3 way through is way over the top and out of place. In the video version its much more subtle and doesn't break up the song. Ed's vocals in the last portion just sound much better too. Much better version.
Is anyone else hearing this as well or I am crazy. :?
BTW - The song has totally grown on me. Couldn't stand it at first but could not stop listening.

I noticed that yesterday and I love the studio version but I love this live/video version even more and it is all because of Stone's prominence. It is so good!Up here so high I start to shake, Up here so high the sky I scrape, I've no fear but for falling down, So look out below I am falling now, Falling down,...not staying down, Could’ve held me up, rather tear me down, Drown in the river0

I have a hunch that Ed is just miming the acoustic guitar. Something just seems a little off with it.
I like the live take quite a bit more and since its studio quality it might be the version that goes in the album playlist on iTunes. More Stone and less Mike delay cheese on the solo.0 -
I thought the video had a very "live" feel to it, if it's not live, that is.
Great job by those who shot and produced it.
Posimists. Fuck the pessimists...fuck'em.0 -
Could totally tell it was live.
Matt fucks up near the beginning a tiny bit with timing.
Stones tone is the exact same tone from bootlegs.
Timing with the keys wasn't exactly on at points.
Really dig both versions though, to the people who keep saying its 80s ballad
i have no idea what you are talking about. Sounds a lot different apart from Mikes solo
which near the end does a little delay lick that is 80ish. I think the song sounds more
like an upbeat pop pink floyd. Singer in my band who doesn't like Pearl Jam that much even

Yup. That's what I thought. Love the video version and will keep it in my playlist with the album when it comes out. They should record more songs with that "live" feel like this. Weird how some of their albums have it and others don't.
Great song but that version just sounds so much better. Can't wait to hear the album.0 -

Played Sirens video and MYM video back to back and I am really excited for the album. Seeing the band play Sirens really adds to the experience, the video makes all of them look pretty cool. Song really grew on me and Stone really impressed me with his tremolo guitar. Sure its not perfect, but the band sounds tight and very complementary to each others parts. Its actually really nice to have a video for the song. I think Sirens will sound even better accompanied by the rest of the album as a nice change of pace.Bridge Benefit 1994, San Francisco 1995, San Diego 1995 1 & 2, Missoula 1998, Los Angeles 2000, San Diego 2000, Eddie Vedder/Beck 2/26/2002, Santa Barbara 2003, Irvine 2003, San Diego 2003, Vancouver 2005, Gorge 2005, San Diego 2006, Los Angeles 2006 1 & 2, Santa Barbara 2006, Eddie Vedder 4/10/08, Eddie Vedder 4/12/08, Eddie Vedder 4/15/08, 7/12/2008, SF 8/28/09, LA 9/30/09, LA 10/1/09, LA 10/06/09, LA 10/07/09, San Diego 10/09/09, Eddie Vedder 7/6/2011, Eddie Vedder 7/8/2011, PJ20 9/3/2011, PJ20 9/4/2011, Vancouver 9/25/2011, San Diego 11/21/13, LA 11/24/13, Ohana 9/25/21, Ohana 9/26/21, Ohana 10/1/21, EV 2/17/22, LA Forum 5/6/22, LA Forum 5/7/22, EV 10/1/22, EV 9/30/230

Interesting, that was the main thing that made me think it was live cus it sounded way different than what Mike was playing earlier.
Yea I agree...much different sound when Ed starts playing0 -

Naw not really, its pretty much the same. The only thing that I really really like about the video rather than the studio version is the 'Ahha Ahha Oohho Ohho' bit at the end which they've mixed too low in the studio version. The live version sounds much better at the end. Ed vocals are perfect on both versions to my ears. I also think the 'Mike' solo is better on the studio version but each to his own...It's Evolution, Baby!0 -
The Video version is actually quite different and Stone totally makes it. Don't kill me for this but his guitar treatment is like the guitar in the original Elton John Candle in the Wind. That was totally cool and this is reminescent in a good way.
Here is my question/request. Could PJ or 10c release the video version, audio, as a b-side to Sirens? Sort of like Man of the hour has a produced and demo version. Similar. A-side: LB Sirens, B-side: Video version. This is so awesome.
If not, is there a way to capture the video version and burn it to a CD so I can play it in the car? Is that possible? Legal? If not legal, I retract the question.Up here so high I start to shake, Up here so high the sky I scrape, I've no fear but for falling down, So look out below I am falling now, Falling down,...not staying down, Could’ve held me up, rather tear me down, Drown in the river0 -

That's what me me wonder if it was overdubbed. That and Ed looks a little stiff or uncomfortable with the strum.0 -

I noticed this yesterday too. Eddies vocals sound less autotuned/melodyned in the video version. In the actual official single some of the really high notes sound really really processed IMO.2005-9-12 London, ON
