Sirens Lyrics UPDATED 3

Here's what I got. Question marks indicate help needed...correct as needed
Thanks to Hoosiers, uglybabo, justam, and wiffyjustus for the lyrics again to hoosiers for the excellent punctuation!!! Thank you everyone else for the input, including my wife. She also thinks it should be study instead of studied as it fits better with the overall tense of the song, but i just left it as studied because it sounds more like that.
Hear the sirens…
Hear the sirens…
Hear the sirens… Hear the circus so profound
I hear the sirens… more and more in this here town
Let me catch my breath to breathe then reach across the bed
Just to know we’re safe, I am a grateful man
This light has been my light, and I can see you clear
I could take your hand, and feel your breath
For fear that someday we'll be over
I pull you close, so much to lose
Knowing that nothing lasts forever
I didn't care, before you were here
I danced in laughter with the ever after
But, all things change, let this remain
Hear the sirens… covering distance in the night
The sound, echoing closer, will they come for me next time
Every choice, mistake I made, is not my plan
To send you in the arms of another man
And if you choose to stay, I’ll wait, I’ll understand
It’s a fragile thing, this life we lead, if I think too much, I can get over-
Whelmed by the grace, by which we live our lives with death over our shoulders
Want you to know, that should I go, I always loved you, held you high above too
I studied your face, the fear goes away
It’s a fragile thing, this life we lead, if I think too much, I can get over-
Whelmed by the grace, by which we live our lives with death over our shoulders
Want you to know, that should I go, I always loved you, held you high above too
I studied your face, the fear goes away
The fear goes away
The fear goes away
The fear goes away

I don't think those are spot on either but I could be wrong. Either way I'm too lazy to make an attempt.
Even cold. November rain....

Another habit says its long overdue
Another habit like an unwanted friend
I'm so happy with my righteous self
'If I think too much
I can’t get over
Wound/Willed by the graves'
is actually:
'If I think too much I can get overwhelmed
by the grace'
Hear the sirens…
Hear the sirens…
Hear the sirens… Hear the circus so profound
I hear the sirens… more and more in this here town
Let me catch my breath to breathe then reach across the bed
Just to know we’re safe, I am a grateful man
This light is pit?, alive and I can see you clear
I could take your hand, and feel your breath
For fear that someday will be over
I pull you close, so much to lose
Knowing that nothing lasts forever
I didn't care, before you were here
A distant laughter, with the ever after
But, all things change, let this remain
Hear the sirens… covering distance in the night
The sound, echoing closer, will they come for me next time
Every choice, mistake I made, is not my plan
To send you in the arms of another man
And if you choose to stay, I’ll wait, I’ll understand
It’s a fragile thing, this life we lead, if I think too much, I can’t get over
When by the graves, by which we live our lives with death over our shoulders
Want you to know, that should I go, I always loved you, held you high above too
I studied your face, the fear goes away

I heard->
circus so profound
can get overwhelmed by the grace by which we live
danced with laughter with the ever after
That's what I hear.
What Ed is saying here is that if you think too much along these lines, with death always looking over your shoulder, it can paralyze you. I think "graves" actually makes more sense in the context of death than "grace."
But I don't know. Like everyone, I'm just spitballing at this point.
for the least they could possibly do
But seriously thanks for the effort.
If I think too much, I can get *overwhelmed by the **grace by which we live our lives
With death over our shoulders
*Ed splits up the overwhelmed into 2 distinct syllables, sounding like 2 different words.
**Graves would seem too literal here. Could be, but he is overwhelmed by our ability to live gracefully even though death is really only a step away from all of us.

How I choose to feel is how I am.
There's just one word I still believe...and it's LOVE.
"Take care of one another..." -EV
And it might be "held you high above true" instead of "held you high above too".
Yeah, I can buy that.
for the least they could possibly do
Now to take your hand and feel your breath, for fear this someday will be over.
I pull you close, so much to lose, knowing that nothing lasts forever.
I didn't care before you were here.
I danced with laughter with the ever-after.
But all things change.
Let this remain.

I'm kind of nitpicking but oh well. Figuring out Eddie's lyrics is always a challenge before they are published. But being a guy that really gets into the lyrics, it is so much fun. I think I've been working on figuring out Yellow Ledbetter for 20 years now.
Alright, I should probably stop posting for the night because the wine is flowing.....

OMG I've still not figured out all of YL!

No one has.
Not even Eddie!

My original comment was tongue in cheek.
could it be "truth" instead or true or too? does that collocate?
I wonder if it's Grace the first time and graves the second time?
I actually thought this for a moment yesterday too! And that's not a bad thing in my book.
Personally, I'm a big fan of both these songs!
fixed. thanks
Knowing that nothing lasts forever
I didn't care, before you were here"
One of my favorite lines in years. Simple, yet amazing.
