PJ in Movies/TV

I recently discovered there are tons of Cold Case episodes which feature PJ songs, and I must say it really surprised me. I don't mind it I suppose (though it's not really my type of show), it's just I always thought they were tight with their music, and for some reason I just didn't expect Cold Case to meet their "standard" or whatever. This leads me to wonder if either the creator of Cold Case is a big fan and/or is friends with a band member.

But anyway, was just wondering others thoughts on this. Do you want PJ to stay exclusive or only lend music to really awesome projects, or could you care less where their music shows up?

These are the shows/movies I know have used PJ music:

-Singles
-Big Fish
-Surfs Up
-Friends
-Castle
-Cold Case
-The trailer for new movie Out of the Furnace

Personally I'm always thrilled (actually more like giddy :lol: . I get teased sometimes when I hear a PJ song and get all excited and must tell all my uninterested friends/family "Hey listen! It's Pearl Jam!") when I hear PJ songs anywhere where I don't expect it, so long as it's not used in crap. But then who am I to determine what's worthy and what's not.

What's your opinion?

    As long as they don't sell their music to commercials (sorry Pete but that really bugs me), anything else is fine.

    There was an episode in the first season of Friday Night Lights that featured "Come Back." The song was totally out of place for the scene (lyrics-wise) but it was cool to see them use it anyway.

    I remember a song being used in an episode of Hawaii Five-O. I think it was last year and it was "The End".

    Mike also wrote the music for an episode of Fringe a few years ago.

    There is some kid show from the 90s where the main character wants to go to a Pearl Jam show, but its her parents anniversary. Drama ensues, but everyone is happy in the end. No music or appearance by band.

    Pretty certain the show was called Clarissa Explains it all. Got a copy as filler on a tape from back in the trading days.

    "Come Back" is used in an early episode of Friday Night Lights... One of my favorite things about that show was the music.

    Just saw someone already posted this... Ah well.

    "Unthought Known" featured in an episode of short-lived series Flash Forward around the time Backspacer was released.

    Nothingman was used in an episode of Californication. It fit the mood of the scene perfectly. I enjoy hearing PJ in movies/TV. It always makes me smile. :)
