7 years on - Leeds and Reading Festivals

2006 Pearl Jam played the Leeds and Reading Festivals (or Reading and Leeds, if you prefer). The Leeds show was the first outdoor festival appearence since that sad day in Denmark in 2000. I went to the Leeds Festival (just for the Friday) to see PJ. It had been 6 years since I'd seen them play, at then, my one and only PJ show (Manchester, 2000). This show pretty much was the trigger for me going to as many PJ shows as possible from that point on. Here are the setlists from that Bank Holiday weekend:

My highlight was Daughter/It's OK. I had a vague memory of It's OK from the Touring Band DVD, but hearing it live blew me away. Who went to these shows? Anyone lucky enough to do both of them?

Had a ticket to Leeds but did not want to go on my own so sold the ticket. Crazy when I think now I would just go for it, on my own or not. Since more or less the time I got into them in 2002 I wanted to see them and I thought my chance had gone. Luckily they returned the year after and my live PJ adventures were up and running.

I can't believe that has been 7 years. I remember it getting announced on Radio 1 and Zane Lowe playing 'Alive' and dancing around my living room.

I was at both. For festivals, 2 amazing shows, great sets. I did the first 3 shows of that tour followed by another 7 through out Europe.

I went to both shows - I preferred Reading to Leeds although they were both great shows.

One of the biggest highlights for me was Crown Of Thorns. I've always loved that song and I think this was the first time they'd played it outside the US http://youtu.be/7aDkCPg6ab8

Also, the version of Alive at Reading was amazing. Ed is almost in tears at the end of it, it's such an emotional moment http://youtu.be/r5UEkumxNCs

I've got both the shows on my MP3 player. Love the Reading one, esp. the Iron Man cover as Goldrush mentioned!

I'm fairly certain some of the set was shown on BBC3 (or BBC4). Did they do festival coverage back then?
