don't get the paranoia re crossing the border? It's a Tuesday or Wednesday. cross early AM. Head back across /down after the show on Wed. Use Sumas, Aldergrove, truck crossing... So many options. Maybe wait 30 - 40 MAX. Big deal. :fp:

don't think anyone's paranoid about crossing the border. just taking into consideration the Seattle area peeps that can't take time off to leave earlier in the day. traffic and border wait times does effect whether or not they can go...
considering all the shoppers crossing back home into Canada any evening in dec at whichever crossing the wait's usually much looooonger than 30-40 minutes.
hell, during december it takes border hoarders at least that long to get out of the mall parking lot.

Does it take that long to wait @ the border crossing?
From Seattle I'm taking the Amtrak train to Vancouver. Where do they check us for customs? In Seattle when bordering or when we come off the train in Vancouver. It's my first time taking a train to & from USA/CDN.
We are planning on driving down from Vancouver to Seattle early Thursday morning.
no idea re the train or bus. Never crossed by either method.
From my experience the wait time vary greatly by time of day or crossing. If I was driving up for the Wednesday show I'd take the day off or work the morning only. drive is ~2 hours to Pacific Hwy / Peace Arch from downtown Seattle. 3 hours max with out major traffic and ignoring the border.
Leave Seattle at noon and i'd be shocked if you didn't get to Downtown Vancouver by 5PM. Drive south after the show... border will be a non issue at midnight.
be smart... check phone/ radio re border times. Cross in slower times.Plan alternate routes (Sumas / Aldergrove) if Peace Arch is busy. Leaving your car in Richmond and taking the train downtown would save some time, parking $'s and frustration too!
Clearly you need time to get anywhere... not likely possible to work the day in Seattle, leave at 4pm and get to Rogers Arena for doors at 7.
I'd be sure to figure it out one way or another in order to make attend two PJ shows in a 72 hour period!

If you are taking Amtrak, you will go through Customs in Vancouver when you arrive. I've heard it is usually a pretty smooth process ... then from the train station, you can walk about a block to catch the 'skytrain', and ride for one stop to 'Stadium / Chinatown' which will put you right close to the arena to pick up your 10C tickets (although it is kind of confusing to find the right gate with all the viaducts & roads).

I don't think it's likely there will be a ridiculous border line up to get to Vancouver on a Wednesday afternoon. Maybe 15 or 20 min. Cross-border shopping line ups are on weekends.

maybe 15-20 minutes on a typical Wednesday afternoon, also shopping line ups are typically longer on weekends. but during December is a another story, long border line-ups are everyday....just saying given the circumstances it'd be wise to allow more time getting across
ever try to going to bellis fair mall or costco on any afternoon during the holidays? :wtf:

I don't think it will be much of an issue at all that early in December on a wednesday...

Thanks. Now I have a ministry song stuck in my head!
Maybe not until next week since this is a holiday week? :corn:
Isn't labour day next week?
It's a week from today but a lot of people vacation this week as its the last unofficial week of summer.
Agreed. If it's gonna happen, they might be saving it for the Sept. 10th 10C newsletter.
