So who actually rides on the bus? Just the band or crew too? Do they all ride on one?0
-
They need to get a plane. Then they can play more shows.

:?

 0 -

if the boy's still traveled by bus (which i very much doubt), I would imagine it would look much like Uncle Neil's....
Houston, Texas... Believe it or not, there are 7 million people here... must be a couple of fans who'd love to see you play.0 -
you don't think they travel by bus even for the shows that are only hours apart?? I can't see them chillin' in a bus for 18 hours driving cross country but it seems a little silly to fly for all shows.0
-
I'm pretty sure they still use busses in the states. The only bands I've heard of that don't are U2 and Coldplay, they fly back to New York or Vegas right after every show.0

And then probably tell us we should ride bikes to work to cut down our carbon footprint.0 -
You guys are funny. Of course they still take busses!! And no the crews don't ride with the bands. The techies do, but floor, line hangers, line rollers, and step crew all have their own busses or vans. Gear techs ride with their assigned band member, so they can work in issues, pass offs, and they are just generally expected to be up their person's ass.. As for planes.. Usually just over seas.. Busses are much cheaper to run across end the country in.. Whole tour crew for a band this size?? About twenty vehicles and just over one hundred or one fifty, crew members not including the band and their techies. :-)0

Bruce and the E street band travel on chartered planes....A few years ago for the show in DC I was working at Dulles(had to work on their plane actually) and it was a chartered 757. They arrived a few hours before the gig and then they all got off of the plane an into a waiting motorcade of Escalades and vans with a police escort to the show downtown."Populated with every reject and cutthroat from Bombay to Calcutta. It's worse than Detroit."0 -

Even better is the small number of people traveling on the plane: the band, whatever family was with them, and some management. Tons of room on the plane for more people but the entire road crew were on buses and trucks as is the norm.
PS Bruce was in Philly before heading to DC :fp:"Populated with every reject and cutthroat from Bombay to Calcutta. It's worse than Detroit."0 -
