Ok, so I have been contemplating getting a PJ related tattoo. I was actually at a tattoo shop this past weekend, ready to get one. I chickened out because I want some opinions....

What do the Faithfull think of the Stickman tattoo? I really want to get it because it is a universal symbol of my love for the band but I don't want to seem like a fairweather fan because i am anything but. I have some other ideas, like the Eddie Vedder wave and some gems and rhinestones. But I really want the stickman and I want to make it my own by adding a pink bow in it's hair :D

Random thoughts?

If you want it, get it, but do it for yourself, not to show how big a fan you are (and stick to the original).

I got it on my chest 16 years ago. Very few people have seen it. It's for myself because of what it means to me.

I got it on my calf, reminds me of the a certain time in my life where "alive" was really relevant and helped me through some stuff.

The same Tattoo can mean different things to different people, if you like it, get it! :D

I've thought the same thing before. I'm getting a tattoo in a few years, but I've come to the conclusion that I don't want the Stickman anymore. But I do know what I want. Remember the font of Pearl Jam on the cover of Live at The Gorge? I'm getting the letters PJ in that font. I think it'll be wicked!

I have one. I got it a few years ago but I had wanted it for a long, long time. Get it for yourself if it's what you want. I really don't care if people think it's unoriginal because it's something I wanted for myself.

I have 5 tattoos that very in size and color. They are all on my arms. I have one that I will be going over with something different to have covered, but thats me. Tattoos are a very personal thing and belong to you. If you want stickman, get it. Don't ever get a tattoo you would be afraid/ashamed if someone saw it. You don't really want the tattoo forever if that is the case. Or get it in a place most won't see. I am getting a PJ themed tattoo soon but it is one that won't be recognazable by many and is a cover of my favorite album.

Get want you want, but make sure you want it.

    Wind this thing up.

Sorry and I really don't intend to offend anybody but I just think tattoos are bad idea. I would strongly recommend the idea of a stick man shirt instead. Tattoos are so permanent. At the place I work, if I were interviewing people for employment, and one of the candidates was the valedictorian of the top college but visibly had tattoos and/or piercings, the interview would be over. I just can't put that in front of customers. I know some people will probably take offense but I don't intend to offend anybody. All I am saying is that tattoos are very permanent and when you get something done like that which is so permanent in nature, I just hope you take a while to think about the positive aspects about that decision but don't take lightly the negative side as well. Whatever your decision is personal and I respect that. I just want to make sure you weigh the future ramifications. Best regards.

  • I'm seriously thinking about getting the stickman on the top of my arm. Was gonna do it 20 years ago and allowed myself to be talked out of it with "you might hate Pearl Jam in 20 years"

I don't think it matters what other people think or tell you to do, when it comes to tattoos. I do not have any. I've gotten close a few times, but just never went for it. I can tell you I do not regret any of the tattoos that I haven't gotten.
