I am talking about the trend, the evolution of pj music from my own point of view. The trend of me losing touch with pj has been going on since Riot Act. And up until this piont it has been a constant one.

When I talk about the new songs, it looks like the trend will continue. Like I said in my post, I havent given up on the new album. My point is merely that i am not able to follow the band as closely as I hoped to be. With news of new material, I always get some of this hope back ,that I can wrap my mind around pjs music again and love it like I used to. But it doesnt look like it will happen this time.

Dont misunderstand me, I am talking from what I have heard so far. Whatever coming in october will come. New discussions then :)

Ps to Dimitri: Dutch and Norwegian do have linguistic similarities. I used to be able say "cheers" in Norwegian. Forgot unfortunately :lol::lol: .

Skål? :) Pronounced like 'skaul', similar to the name Paul.

That was it! I remember (it was late at night, too much to drink at an hostel) that I kept pronouncing it as "skull" and that everyone cracked up. Followed by new rounds of alcohol of course.

  • will the album version of 'future days' include the rest of the band contributing though ? i remember 'speed of sound', 'unthought known' from backspacer and 'gone' from their self-titled being previewed live or on soundcheck with it just having eddie and / or boom, so is it probable that the album version will be similar as those mentioned songs turned out to be ?
...Pearl Jam, a group filled with pride, passion, and intricate musicianship. Their music is full of subtle textures, rich color, soul-searching power, imagery, and eerie dissonance.

This is exactly why I get so tired of this forum at times. It is so easy to insult people on the internet and have no sense of ethics or even civility when it comes to a debate. People are "kiss-asses", "dicks", "they suck up to the band" etc. etc. etc. Saying something "negative" about the band is being "an independent thinker" (yeah right); having some hummility or trying to start an adult conversation, you are immidiatly "their knight in shining armour". If you had read my comments in this thread you would have seen what I have written about criticism and that I am/ was even critical myself. It is this kind of thinking that made me respond to begin with.

Sorry, I'm not wasting my time reading each comment in this thread. I didn't say you were a kiss-ass, I said you sounded like one; BUT I put an "IMO" in there so it's okay. You're not allowed to get upset because it's only my opinion and I'm not stating it as a fact. When did I say writing negative things about Pearl Jam made someone an independent thinker?

Hey Foxmulder, this makes me a bit  . I already made statements about IMO. "You are", "you sounded like", semantics: implications are what we write in between the lines. Either way, it is getting old. It is Saturday night. The board is exploding about the ticket sales. And I think we both have better things to do. So let me just say "skull" and leave it at that. ;)

Just Breathe. Just took a second listen on YouTube and not feeling Future Days. It will probably grow on me, but with Just Breathe there was a good guitar melody to learn. Future days is very straightforward. We'll see how the album version is.

I absolutely dig Future days after a few listens. It´s got a great mood and a pretty melody
