Why doesn't the new PJ iOS app play music in the background?

Dear @PearlJam while can’t your app stream PJ radio when in the background? It requires iOS 6 so it really should be able to do that. Besides that I really like the app.
I’ve seen Pearl Jam 25 times, Eddie Vedder 9 times, and Brad once.

    Yes. Still only plays the PJ radio stream if it is in the foreground.
    I’ve seen Pearl Jam 25 times, Eddie Vedder 9 times, and Brad once.
