Right, you said Kraft came off as a "naive little boy" for feeling duped that a guy he was paying may be a multi-murderer. Kraft doesn't feel duped because he thought Hernandez was incapable of off-field troubles. As mentioned, weed and bar fights, none of that would be shocking. But murder? I think the guy has a right to feel duped.

He only feels duped/stupid because they signed him to that deal with 2 years remaining on his rookie contract and it backfired. Am I supposed to feel sorry for Bob Craft, hell no. Obviously, we have different opinions but I just think he's play playing the "oh, woe is me" card. Which I think is a bit much. He probably should have said nothing.

Yes we do have different opinions, and that's fine. But if someone who worked for me did this and then turned out later to be a cold-blooded, calculating murderer...I would feel duped too.

"Upon agreeing to a five-year contract extension on Monday, Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez made a charitable gesture that owner Robert Kraft acknowledged in remarks Monday evening at the team's annual charitable foundation gala.

"One of the touching moments since I've owned the team -- knowing that this is our charitable gala tonight -- Aaron came into my office, a little teary-eyed, and presented me with a check for $50,000 to go to the Myra Kraft Giving Back Fund," Kraft said. "I said 'Aaron, you don't have to do this, you've already got your contract.' And he said 'No, it makes me feel good and I want to do it.' "

That's nice and all but 50g's to these guys is nothing. Players get fined more than that.

Really? You don't think it would be shocking to learn someone on your payroll was a cold-blooded murderer? That is not naivete, that is a natural reaction.

a gang member though? come on now, they knew he was a gang member and a bad dude all along. isn't it peculiar that before he was arrested that no one in the Patriots organization defended the guy? they knew he was a piece of shit but didn't care because they wanted to win games.

when committing murder, it's best not to be holding the murder weapon in front of YOUR OWN SECURITY CAMERA!

Not a federal crime, so it won't be a death penalty case in mass

PFT had an article that the feds might be lurking. If they can prove that he killed Lloyd because he was talking about the other people he murdered then he essentially murdered a potential witness and crossed state lines many times which can turn it into a federal crime.

Im not saying that wont happen. Im just doubting it will. AH has too much money to die so they wont waste time trying. life no parole is where my money lies...

I don't disagree and people rarely die these days on death row anyways. Just an interesting and pretty crazy new wrinkle.

I think the number of players in the NFL with gang affiliations is probably pretty high. The number of players who commit cold blooded murder like this is not. Easy to say what they should have known with the benefit of hindsight.

Another thought...one definite problem area the Patriots have had in recent years is drafting/developing talent at the receiver positions. There are several reasons for that, but a big one is that the offense is so complicated many of these guys just don't have the ability to grasp it all. Hernandez is a guy who did have the smarts and was able to grasp and understand it. That might lead you to think that he would also be smart enough to enjoy his millions and leave the gangbanger shit in the past. You would have been wrong, as the Patriots obviously were. But no matter how "troubled" the guy was no one had any reason to believe he was capable of this.

He had several days to properly destroy the camera recorder ... do you think he just hit it once with a hammer and thought, "that should do it. done and done"?

Maybe he was expecting the NFL to dispose of the tapes for him so he just focused on hiding the gun.

Well he was with the Patriots, who are big advocates of taping.

Why do state of the art security systems always look like they were built in 1986? Every single effing time the release a security camera still-shot for any crime in the country, it looks like they filmed it with this ....

FALL RIVER, Mass. -- A Massachusetts grand jury has indicted former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez on a first-degree murder charge in the death of a man whose bullet-riddled body was found in an industrial park near his home.

The grand jury returned the indictment Thursday. It charges Hernandez with the killing of 27-year-old Odin Lloyd, a semi-professional football player who was dating the sister of Hernandez's girlfriend.

Hernandez pleaded not guilty to murder and weapons charges in June. His lawyers say the case against him is circumstantial and they're confident he will clear his name. He's being held in jail without bail.

Prosecutors say Hernandez orchestrated Lloyd's killing because he had talked to people Hernandez had problems with at a nightclub.

Hernandez could face life in prison if convicted.
