I am not sure if there is a thread for this band, but can't do a search with the iPhone app. My apologies if it exists,
Anyway, I have been listening to Phoenix's new album Wolfgang Amadeus and it's pretty good.
A little pop driven, but a fun album to listen to! Check it out!

I like the album a lot, real good to drive to. Love the song "Lasso"."This is about as perfect a crowd as you can get. I hate to placate, I ain't placating...." - EV, 9/29/960

haha, i was listening to it on my drive to work today and there was a lot of traffic and I was thinking to myself, man it would be nice to cruise the open road to this cd. good stuff.Pick up my debut novel here on amazon: Jonny Bails Floatin (in paperback) (also available on Kindle for $2.99)0

Yeah a brillant little pop album from last year. One of my favs.
I just can't stand the 7 minute song. Otherwise i liked the album a lot.Charlotte 00 | Charlotte 03 | Asheville 04 | Atlanta 12 | Greenville 16 | Columbia 16 |Seattle 18 | Nashville 22 | Ohana Festival 24 x2 | Atlanta 25 x20 -
The first time I listened to this album I absolutely hated it. I thought it sounded a little too much like MGMT Oracular Spectacular. A few days later I gave it another listen and kind of liked it. Its defiantly grown on me.0

1901 is such a perfect song.
they remind me of a Paris version of the Strokes0 -
the grammys got one thing right at least, naming wolfgang amadeus phoenix the best alternative album of the year.
beyond that, you know your behind the times when you still refer to this music as "alternative". What are you, grammy creators, stuck in 1992?0 -
+1 on that statement!musicismylife78 wrote:the grammys got one thing right at least, naming wolfgang amadeus phoenix the best alternative album of the year.
Phoenix is a really fun band with some awesome infectious music!
Lisztomania gets stuck in my head just about every day!"Sometimes you find yourself having to put all your faith in no faith."

Just a cool cool band"FF, I've heard the droning about the Sawx being the baby dolls. Yeah, I get it, you guys invented baseball and suffered forever. I get it." -JearlPam09250

or it could be the other way around...as phoenix have been around a wee bit longer than the strokes. i think it's good that phoenix is finally getting widespread recognition as a band...i've loved them since i first heard "if i ever feel better" from united. so fun to dance to...as is the new cd. work is always more fun with a phoenix dance partymusicismylife78 wrote:1901 is such a perfect song.

Cool stuff! Not spectacular, but definitely cool. Hoping to see them for the first time in May. I hear nothing but great reviews of them live!eeriepadave wrote:"Sometimes you find yourself having to put all your faith in no faith."

I listened to the iTunes stream a few times and just couldn't get into this album. Entertainment is the only decent song. Nothing else really stands out.0 -

I liked the album, but do not see too much of a departure from their last album. Thats disappointing considering there was a four year gap between albums. They said this one would be experimental, but I am not hearing it.severed hand thirteen2006: Gorge 7/23 2008: Hartford 6/27 Beacon 7/1 2009: Spectrum 10/30-31

The catchiness of their previous album just isn't there and yeah I wouldn't call it experimental either.0 -

I will see them for the first time at the Barclays Center if I can find cheap tix. I would definitely see them in Red Rocks and honestly be more excited about the venue.severed hand thirteen2006: Gorge 7/23 2008: Hartford 6/27 Beacon 7/1 2009: Spectrum 10/30-31
