4 Posters for 1 Show?

Seems excessive. I mean PJ20 had 3 "official" posters for two nights.

They all sold out, so technically not excessive at all.
Personally, I think one for every show is even a bit much. But they all sell out quickly...severed hand thirteen2006: Gorge 7/23 2008: Hartford 6/27 Beacon 7/1 2009: Spectrum 10/30-31

I realized that I haven't seen images of the other two. I found the first pair hideous. I'm not into posters, I don't like the design/drawing of 90% of them. I bought one from the show in my city just as a souvenir, I thought the price was high and over all, the image is ugly. But that's what it is, a souvenir.
On the other hand, I don't see why it's excesive to have 4 different posters for the same show, the price is even fairer from the one I got in my city, so if sb doesn't like it, won't buy it, or buy it and flip it (that's the only certainty).... I am not in the business of being liked anymore ...0 -
I didn't think posters were as rare as they used to be. When I was in Seattle in '09 they had three posters. The ones the merch booth were doing, which was a different poster each night. Then Ames bros. had their own booth tucked a way and were selling their own poster that covered both shows.
There were sooo many posters.... I'm not even sure they sold out. The run must of been huge. Not like past tours where they were hard to come by if you weren't there at doors.
I'm guessing Wrigley's problem is the sheer quantity of people.. giant masses..0 -
Four posters for one show is excessive, not in a "supply and demand" sense, but in a "gouge the maniacal fanbase" sense.
Seriously... the demographic these posters are targeted for are fanatical about this, and printing 4 posters for a single show takes full advantage of that fact.
I, like many of my PJ fan brethren, purchase the poster from all shows we've been to. It's like a badge of honor or something. If there are two, I'll buy them both. If there are 4... you know it. My collection is incomplete without them all.
I'm not saying this mentality makes a ton of sense, but I am saying that it is being taken advantage of. In that regard, it is excessive.- 98 Pgh

I don't think that the amount of posters is necessarily excessive. I think that the amount of things that people find a reason to complain about is what is excessive around here.Randall's Island, NY 9/29/96; Camden, NJ 9/2/00; Philadelphia, PA 10/3/05; East Rutherford, NJ 6/1/06; Virginia Beach, VA 6/17/08; Camden, NJ 6/19/08; Philadelphia, PA 10/27/09, 10/28/09, 10/30/09, 10/31/090

Considering they sell a shit ton of those posters, I wouldn't say 4 is excessive.... and we all know a lot of PJ fans are basically hoarders and can't help themselves from collecting fucking everything. I mean, would I part even $10 for an ugly, mass-produced, printed poster? Hell no.... but I don't blame the people that do, it's their $$$. Pearl Jam is smart by offering more options to rake in even more dough.0
