Anyone with past success via Ticketmaster?

I did not score FanClub tix and am relying on the general sale starting on the 27th.

Has anyone ever been in a similar situation and not ended up in the nosebleeds?

Thanks.

I generally get decent tix with TM, but don't expect anything close unless you get extremely lucky.

I got four seats together in the middle of the section just above the floor for the Hartford 2010 show! Keep your hopes up ;)

    That's a loaded question.

I can usually get pretty good tickets with ticketmaster, except for Pearl Jam shows. Going through my collection of ticket stubs, most of my tickets have been GA floor, first 10 or 15 rows etc.... very rarely did I get something crappy.

I also have better luck with Ticketmaster Canada than Ticketmaster USA, maybe because the demand is less. I can also be patient. If I don't get decent tickets at the regular onsale I'll quite often wait for side stage tickets to get released at a later date.

I've *never* been shut out by Ticketmaster but I was always ready to go at the shotgun.

I learned through multiple experiences that the key to getting better-ish Ticketmaster seats is to be willing to buy singles. As long as you and your friends don't need to be together, you can get closer. Also, don't choose "best available" in your singles search. Request a single in a *specific section.*

    Good luck.

If I am choosing a specific section, how greedy should I be? Waste of time to try the floor or, in this case, GA Pit tickets?

GA won't be available through ticketmaster. According to 10club that is exclusive to lottery winners

    Thanks.

with the exception of '06 when they were selling tix without ticketmaster (Randall's Island NY General Admission) and '04 when i got tix for Paramount NY through Z100, most other PJ shows I have attended have been through ticketmaster and I had great experiences at every show... in fact for the "live at the garden" msg 1 show in '03 we didn't have tix and bought them night of the show at the box office and ended up just behind the stage close enough to read Mike's set list and end up on the DVD!

I have never had fan club seats and lost out on all 4 Brooklyn picks since i played my first 2 picks in hopes of having an amazing spot right in front. Ticketmaster for me this time as well! should be a kick ass experience regardless.

To ensure you have the best shot...

1 - Work multiple browsers at once, NOT browser tabs - full on browsers. Multiple tabs within the same browsers will do nothing for you. So, get Firefox, Chrome, Safari, IE...all of them running and open at once on the ticket info page. Make sure to SIGN IN to your TM account on every browser so you don't have to do it during the purchasing process.

2 - Start refreshing each of them separately/repeatably about 1-2 minutes before the on-sale time. Don't start refreshing too early or TM may lock you out momentarily. Go by an official clock, as that's what TM's servers will be timed to by the second (in most cases). http://www.time.gov

3 - As each refreshes and shows you the ticket options work as fast as you can to fill in the criteria you want and type in the captcha code - that's the worst part

4 - The more tickets you want together the worst chance you'll have. If you don't mind flying solo its MUCH EASIER to get a good seat with a solo ticket purchase

5 - Keep trying, and change up the options. Other people may be doing the same and tickets get returned into availability

6 - Have friends/family help because they can type in the info on sep computer at same time as you. You'll only make it through each browser so fast

    7 - Repeat

    what he said,

i've bought singles that were in 10c sections on 2 occasions, one for pj20 but closer to show time. my advice is to get online 7/27 and then starting 1-2 weeks out again for your venue. any odd # rows in 10c area will be for sale via tm and there are always ticket drops in the final days before show.

    Wow. Such great feedback. Thanks.

Last question: floor seats behind GA or lower level section seats closer to the side of stage? Which do you think are better?

I'd go with seats in the wings over the back of the floor. The problem with the floor is that it's completely level. The further you go back, the lower the angle between your eyes an the stage. IE in the first 10 rows you are looking up and over peoples heads. When your 20 rows back your pretty much looking dead at the stage, and everyones heads (tallers or the same height) as you make it hard to see.

I'm 6'2. Somewhere around rows 15-20 I get a little nervous about floor tickets. Definitely won't buy 'em past row 20. I'm guessing the GA sections will go that far back by default... so I'd avoid it.

I got tickets for both nights of PJ20 from Ticketmaster just a few weeks before the show and I had fan club ticket holders sitting all around me. Sometimes you get lucky.

Not necessarily. My # is 189xxx and I've had it both ways. In 2003 at the Spectrum and State College, I was on the wings. In 2008 at the two MSG shows, I was way back on the floor. 2009 Spectrum shows; I was on the wings for nights 2 and 3 but back on the floor night 4. So there's no telling.
