It's generally easier to drive from Portland. The only issues you might run into is ice in the Gorge going east on I-84 and when you start going North into WA the roads are one lane and very rural if I remember correctly.

No 2 lane roads to worry about. You take I-84 to I-82. I-82 will lead you into The Tri-Cities. Getting through there can be confusing though. Once you're in Kennewick (one of the Tri-Cities) you'll want to head toward Pasco (another Tri-city). From there head north on Highway 395.There should be signs leading you to Spokane at this point. 395 is all 4 lane divided highway (basically a freeway) once you get through town. 395 to I-90 then head east to Spokane. No mountain passes. If it's clear and you don't stop a lot, it should be a nice 5hr drive.

I'm in. Might be GA or reserved, my friend and I both won the lottery and have consecutive numbers. Who am I kidding, I'll be in GA.

I will be in GA as well.

Spokane Arena is a fantastic venue for sports (been for March Madness) and have heard good things about concerts. A few bars nearby, but I recommend downtown if you don't want standing room only.

Can't decide if I am gonna drive over fly over, immediately after Apple Cup.
  • Anyone know how many GA tix were sold for Spokane?
I've got GA for Spokane and reserved for Seattle. My wife, who is short, small and doesn't like being pushed around, is trying to decide if she wants to go to both shows or just Seattle. For her sake I was hoping GA would be like it was in Missoula, but based off the seating chart looks like it might be more crammed.

From what I can tell, it looks like everyone who requested GA got it. Numbers wise...who knows. I'm imagining it will be similar to what Missoula was. Everyone will have their own space to get loose without much pushing or shoving.

Thanks again, Ezo5000! Not sure yet if I'm heading back to Seattle/Everett after Portland or staying the night in Portland and then heading to Spokane. Either way, I'll be going across Snoqualmie at some point. :)

I disagree about the pass, while having chains is a good idea in general, I've driven over Snoqualmie at least a dozen times around Thanksgiving, and it's never as bad as the news and WSDOT makes it out to be. My senior year in Pullman, Gregoire declared the pass in a State of Emergency. It was bone dry and there were no traffic snags.

guess you weren't one of the 'lucky ones' that got to experience being trapped on I-90 when they shut the pass down. I've driven I-90 Seattle to Butte MT twice a year for YEARS. Thanksgiving and President's Day holidays. Most of the time it's fine, but I'm putting the warning out there...just like when people said "It never rains at Alpine on Labor Day weekend"... we all know how that turned out.

EDIT: oh and out of the 3 passes on I-90, Snoqualmie is usually the worst.

First Spokane show in 20+ years! I'm very stoked for this show. Already going to be in Idaho for Thanksgiving, so hoping the passes are clear for us all! I've never been to the Arena, but hear it's a cozy place.
Even though I live on the West side, I'm definitely looking to get involved with the pre-party fundraiser!

Coming from Calgary, not sure if we should fly or drive. I have reserved, but would swap for GA if anyone's interested.

Unfortunately my 10c membership expired a few days before the announcement and I was unable to afford re-newel til after the announcement so I am stuck shooting for tix on the 27th, I am hoping to get GA.

Does anyone know why 90% of the shows are showing on Ticketmaster but the Spokane Show is not?

TicketWest is apparently selling the tix, but it wasn't on there as of yesterday.

Unfortunately for you, GA is Fan Club only.
