Pre-sale codes?......

I've noticed in the past shows have put out pre-sale codes before tickets go on sale to the general public. Does anyone know if there will be any associated with this tour?

Honest question as I'm not a ticketing expert ... but, aren't presale codes just a gimmick to sell the shitty seats?

Sure you're in the building, and that's all that matters. Just curious.

I think in the past when they did that, it was the week of the public sale, usually a day or two before. If it happens this time, my guess is it won't be emailed out until next week sometime.

Personally, I have no idea how they work. But as mentioned, if it gets me in the door for the Seattle show, which I'm guessing will sell out pretty quick, I'd give it a whirl. Thanks for the info.

    Often times thats the case.

  • yes pre-sales are a marketing gimick and typically offer less desirable seats.

if there are any, they would not occur until the week of the general onsale.

its all up to LiveNation (or whoever's) regional/local sales/mkting team if they want to dump some to a radio station pre-sale or whatever.

mostly all of these shows are guaranteed sell outs so the extra effort is typically not needed.

Wife wants to go see Justin Timberlake. OK, I take her to all of my concerts and she doesn't complain. I can be a good husband and buy my wife Timberlake tickets as an Anniversary present.

I sign up for JT pre-sale. Pre-Sale starts and I look up tickets; they're not great and expensive - side view. I was thinking that's the best I can get. It's a pre-sale, these are the best tickets! I look a day later and there's now a Mastercard pre-sale. I look at those and find much better floor seats. So I buy the floor ones and sell my side-view seats.

There seems to be too much pre-sale confusion and not enough "good" tickets that go to the general public.

Just to mention, when they (10 Club) got us that special presale for MSG II 2010 after the debacle here, seats were pretty good... 200's in very close proximity to the stage. Definitely not the norm.

A lot of these presales are just to build hype and get average to below average tix sold to the novice concert goer who doesn't know any better. Its the one place 10club has always done right by us, they do their level best to secure the best tickets for the club members. Not always the case with some other fan clubs and any Ticketmaster/facebook/radio station presale and such should be viewed with a grain of salt...sometimes you'll get good tix, but as you found out, not always your best option.

  • I'd love to just avoid the mad rush of the 27th all together. I've got an extra Dallas and/or Portland tix available if anyone's interested in a swap
