Random thoughts...

Cross that also looks like a molecule
Crescent moon
Radio waves
Pupil that also looks like a tunnel and also looks like the Looney Tunes logo
Eye that also looks like a mouth
Red lightning bolts reminiscent of the Flash
White lightning bolt fracturing the pupil

    10. Take a look a the giant one-eyed bolt-adorned figure in the artwork that went along with the “Lightning Bolt” announcement today (see still frame in album announcement video above). Then ponder this: In greek mythology, Zeus set the Cyclops free and they rewarded him with the gift of thunder and lightning.

    Reminds me of nikola tesla.

    funny thing... david bowie played tesla in the prestige (awesome movie, btw!), and back when bowie was doing ziggy back in the 70s, he had giant lightning bolts (very similar to the album art work) on each side of the stage (see ziggy stardust and the spiders from mars documentary)
    it's largely due to eddie that i liked to jump off of things as a child...

    the cross is like an antenna, I don't get the meaning of the lightnings but since it's the name of the album they should be there, but is that a radio antenna? o a TV one? what is it with the moon? and the eye? is it a helmet? is it a minion from outerspece? I don't know...

    Wonder what J would say...

    About the eye...

    It could be a cyclops (that black shape does resemble a head or helmet), so the lightning bolt is from when Odysseus blinded him.
    Or it could be a third eye, representing spiritual perception
    Or it could represent the eye in the pyramid from US currency
    Or it could be an evil eye (used to deflect evil)
    Or it could allude to the biblical text about getting the stick out of our own eye before worrying about our neighbor's eye.
    Or maybe it alludes to the Gandhi quote "An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind."

    yeah for sure a lot of religious symbols between the rosary/crosses and the crescent moon. Obviously with guns and blood. Gonna be a lot of societal commentary on this album it looks like.

    Just going to throw this one out there... Exempt the middle bolt, there are Two Bolts... could this symbolize... lightning striking twice with this album? Two full length albums... :shock:

    I think it's 12 songs. unless there are some long ass extended jams, It will be one. :)

    Yeah there's definitely commentary on religion with this artwork... it's apparent with the first single, Mind Your Manners, as well... "I found myself believing that I needed God..." (at least that's how it sounds to me, I've read some different interpretations of this line).

    It's kind of hard not to take this as a sort of sarcastic criticism.....
