Just to change the subject away from tickets for a minute, and maybe I'm way behind on this news, but last week I went to see the Counting Crows in Atlantic City and the Wallflowers opened for them. The whole time the Wallflowers are playing I'm watching the drummer thinking "why does this guy's style look so familiar?"
So at the end of their set Jakob Dylan announces the band..."On drums Jack Irons" I was like Holy shit! What a pleasant surprise. The Wallflowers just havent been on my radar I guess.

That sounds like it must have been an awesome show. If I had known I'd probably have tried to go.

    How was it?

So can PJ have him back?

Then Matt C can be freed to do Soundgarden full time and rock and roll can be saved from eternal damnation at the hands of a PJ + Soundgarden tour.

Pearl Jam's best drummer. No question.

The first single of the latest Wallflowers record has a decent video. Jack is on it of course and the song mentions him by name.

Is Jack a full member of the band or just touring with them?

He's a full member as far as I know. If you ever liked the Wallflowers get the new album there is some good stuff on there and Jack is great as always.

Yes I believe he is a FT member of the Wallflowers. The show was great. Wallflowers and Counting Crows both put on a good show and were having a great time on stage. Especially behind the drumkit!

Their newest album is awesome. I was never that big of a Wallflowers fan before, aside from liking their singles and so on. I've had the album on in the background this morning and it's really great. Thanks for the heads up on this.

He's a full member, joined them since the Glad All Over album that was recently released. You should all go see the Wallflowers, but just make sure Rami Jaffee on keyboard is also there. I was disappointed that he didn't tour with them this time around. Rami's super cool, not the same without him in my opinion.

If you're on Facebook, go "Like" Jack Irons' page.

He also has another album coming out with Arthur Channel: http://theendrecords.com/arthur-channel ... ge-eleven/

Band Comprised of Jack Irons (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pearl Jam, Eleven, Wallflowers), Greg Richling (Wallflowers, Fiona Apple), Alain Johannes (Queens Of The Stone Age, Eleven) and newcomer singer/songwriter Jon Greene

Edit: I forgot I wrote this rambling review after I saw them last year: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=189095#p4533391

The Wallflowers are such an overlooked band and Jack certain adds to Jakob's songwriting on the new record. Second fav PJ drummer :geek: (besides Matt)
  • Alain Johannes discussed some projects he has in the works with Jack in my new two part interview with him:
