Hey, I am just looking for some help. I am from Philadelphia. I am leaving for a work training tomorrow in Seattle. I know nothing about the city besides that Shawn Kemp used to drag his fat ass up and down the court in a Sonics uniform.

I am there until Saturday morning. What are some cool places I should see? Anything Pearl Jam related I should go to? My job set me up with a rental car so I am able to travel. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Dan

Go see the needle, the EMP, the library, Queen Anne Hill, the Public Market.. You can go hiking in the Olympics or Rainer.... If you're looking to go out, Amber is a cool bar.. There's ton's of great restaurants... Go to Fremont...

My advice would be to forget the "sites" and Pearl Jam and go to Ballard where the music is... Mind you, I am not much on sightseeing, and music toots my fucking whistle, so take this with a grain of salt.

    Peace,

I am not much of a sightseer. I love music as well. What type of music are we talking about at Ballard? Covers or orignal?

I would love to see anything cool about Pearl Jam in Seattle though

Pretty much all the clubs Pearl Jam played are all gone or has changed names. Off Ramp is now the El Corezon...the Crock is gone but they're trying to rebuild it.

Hope you packed your rain coat...Ah the arrival of fall...say goodbye to the sun for nine months...
Seriously, check out the Tractor Tavern in Ballard, it's my favorite club...
Take a drive out to Snoqualmie Falls...always a pretty sight no matter the weather! Forget about seeing anything from the top of the Space Needle, that all depends on what the cloud level is.

A variety of styles/genres in the clubs in Ballard.. originals and covers. There's always something to make you smile. Mike McCready once recommended going to the Ballard locks to myself and my friend, but I have yet to make it there because I'm always afraid to miss some good music. =)

    Peace

Rainier is probably one of my favorite things about living in Seattle. I am a climber, so I couldn't tell you what to specifically to do there if you're not, but I know there is a ton of hiking, and the drive up the mountain is unbeatable.
  • Stop by Mike's house, Ashley usually has warm cookies ready. You might get asked to change a poopy diaper(just sell it on ebay) but always a fun day at the McCready's!!!

P.S. Use restroom before you get there, Mike is always using it ;)
