not one show within 388 miles...No St. Louis, Cincy, Lexington, Nashville, Indy....HERE! :fp:
I'm with ya on this one....
I am also in Louisville. no Pearl Jam show in 19 years, but I've seen Springsteen, Dave Matthews, the Who, and Roger Waters in our brand new downtown arena all in the last 3 years.
So, frustrating. I thought this was going to finally be the tour where they plan my town.
I have also heard rumors that the people who put on the Forecastle Festival are trying to get PJ for 2014.
That would be awesome.
But, unfortunately, not at all likely.
#1 - I highly doubt there will be enough show dates for them in 2014 to justify a spot for this. I bet 2014 and 2015 will only hold a few select cities just like 2011 and 2012.
#2 - Forecastle is great. But, it can't handle a band as big as Pearl Jam. It is growing, sure, but just can't see them playing at Waterfront Park. Just doesn't fit
I really thought today was our best bet. First tour since YUM center opened. There are a bunch of wide open dates in October and November. I thought they'd start the 2nd leg around here, maybe do a couple of midwest shows before Dallas and heading West.

Is there any chance EV goes solo before the tour? I have heard venue rumors in the area but do not believe them. That I would be happy for. I would settle for a EV concert if PJ was not within my circle. Rabies and Maybies. Both can be bad.
I also thought this was our best bet to get a show at YUM. Unfortunately, no way can I attend ANY of the dates on this tour. I understand Louisville being skipped before they built the new arena but this is beyond disappointing. Gotta agree that 2014 and Forecastle is pretty unlikely
Are we getting something out of this all-encompassing trip?
Seems my preconceptions are what should have been burned...

On *this* tour, yes.
On the next tour or maybe the tour after?
I saw them in 2003 when they came to me. I didn't see them again until 2010 when they came to me. I could have gone to Detroit, Cleveland, or Cincinnati in 2006. I'm sure Pittsburgh was in there as well somewhere, or maybe even Indianapolis.
They'll return sooner or later.
Presidential Advice from President-Elect Mike McCready: "Are you getting something out of this all encompassing trip?"
As another Kentuckian, I too was a little shocked that the YUM Center didn't pull PJ in. Thought for sure we'd win out over Cincy and Nashville....the only one I think that is still competition is Indy because of the outdoor venue.

yeah man it's a bummer. I really wish they would have come to at least St. Louis. But don't worry, there are actually people in this forum that will tell you that you have no right to complain about it. I like to call those people ________(insert insulting name here).

Everyone hitting the road for a few shows?
I'll probably be hitting the road for the Oklahoma City. Still about 600 miles away :(

I already planned a trip with the wife to Chicago, got wrigley tix. got the grandparents to watch the kid. Just can't swing another multiday trip to see a band (even if its this band) . Life and responsibility call. Hence my disappointment with no louisville, or even Nashville, Cincy, Indy, etc...

Ah, come on... Road trip to Charlottesville and/or Charlotte. I'm close to Lville, it's maybe a 20-hour total trip for the two shows. Plus it's got to be gorgeous that time of year.
