Why No Midwest?

I'm in the Chicagoland area and the only show we get is Wrigley Field which was impossible to get tickets to, due to everyone coming here for that one show. I hope they book something close so I can see them this tour.
If not Chicago again how about Michigan, Indiana, Minnesota, Kentucky, Tennessee, Missouri, Iowa, Ohio, and Wisconsin.

They played Alpine Valley for 2 nights in 2011, too along with several shows on the 2010 tour.
There is a large part of this country - the southeast - that hasn't had a show in almost 10 years. The only people we should try to get even with...
...are those who've helped us.
Right 'round the corner could be bigger than ourselves.0 -
Yeah, agreed it's bullshit but par for the course for a ton of bigger bands. It's pretty annoying when a band I love (not just Pearl Jam but they're the most recent) announces a tour and 9 times out of 10 I don't get a chance to go because everyone seems to care about catering mostly to the coasts. Granted I get those are bigger markets but still it's not cool just to totally ignore the rest of the country. Glad I took my chance to see a Vedder solo show in Minneapolis back in 2011 because at this rate who knows when I'll see him, let alone the full band again.

I assume theyll come back around in the summer of 2014, a la 2010, when they can play the amphitheatres.0

I totally agree. It's hard to complain because there have been several shows in the Chicagoland area the last few years, but they always seem to be some kind of special destination show. Lolla/Vic, PJ20, Wrigley. That means it makes it really hard to get a ticket and if you do get lucky, then you probably are still better off getting TM tickets because your 10C tickets will put you in the way back unless your number starts with 1xx,xxx or less. It is frustrating that there is nothing even close on the tour. I would take any Midwest city. Indy, Milwaukee, Detroit, even St.L.
I know a lot of places (Michigan, Florida, Colordo, etc) haven't had much love either.......but I don't live there so I am not going to bitch about that

I'm not trying to start an argument here, but didn't PJ just play Atlanta and Florida last fall?
In fact, look back at the last 5 years of PJ tours (2008-2013)
If you look at the 12 state region of the "south" or "southeast" (historically as: AL, FL, GA, KY, MS, NC, SC, TN, VA, WV, TX and OK), over that 5 year period, PJ has played a total of 15 shows. This includes 3 in Florida and 5 festivals (although I don't hear anyone complaining about their Bonnaroo set
).
If you look at the 12 state region of the "midwest" (historically as: ND, SD, MN, WI, MI, OH, IN, IL, IA, MO, NE and KS), over that 5 year period, PJ has played a total of 10 shows (3 in Chicago, including Wrigley, and PJ20).
I know the "play the South" thing is really popular and I, in complete sincerity, really hope they do. But at the same time, there are other places - ahem, the midwest - that have seen less shows in the last 5 years. To say that the southeast hasn't been played in 10 years is inaccurate, especially on the heels of two shows last fall.
I hope PJ plays everywhere, but this myth that the South or Southeast doesn't get shows is a little annoying when the Midwest has seen even fewer shows. We don't complain though...we just bump the shit out of our thread.

Not a chance. PJ will do European festivals like they do every summer. The money calls and PJ comes running!I've got a fever, and the only prescription is more cowbell.

I didn't expect a show in Cincinnati but I did hope for something closer than 5 hours away. PJ doesn't like my town :-/ but then again nobody really does anymore. But, the road trip to Pittaburgh is gonna be fun!* Cincinnati, OH 8.20.2000 *

I live in Columbus, Ohio and we got a show here in 2010 as well as Cleveland (I went to both). Nothing in Ohio this year so I am trying for a Pittsburgh reserved seat pair of tickets. My mom lives an hour from Pittsburgh so I will have a place to stay after the show. I was just in Pittsburgh last month to see another favorite band of mine "The National".George

It's about 9 hours and 40 minutes from Springfield brotha, so about 10-11 hours for you. It sucks being so far away from the nearest show
maybe we should go together!

Well I'm in Nashville, so no shows for me.. But maybe I can get some great deals on the bay for stuff fans are selling to fund their tour trips.
