Berlin 1 tends to get dwarfed by Berlin 2 in many people's minds but it was a great night too!
Do you remember that family Ed introduced that he met at the Ramones museum? That 5 year old kid in the spotlight who knew every word and was rockin out like a pro.
Faithfull, IMT, It's ok tag, Immortality, Hard to Imagine, Indifference... some of the highlights I remember...
The banner that ran the entire length of the staduim "WE KEEP ON ROCKIN WITH YOU IN THE FREE WORLD" and change the setlist?

I was there.
I liked Berlin 1 better than 2... My first euro show.. My first pit for a pj show.
Long road I knew was coming.. I always get long road. 29 shows and no release opener..a record?
When why go started, the entire floor was an ocean, everyone bouncing. Made my 11 hour flight worth it.
Given to fly was even better. The amazing DVD I have for this show clearly shows all the crowd bouncing
one of my favorite moments in my pj history.
Also first ever it's ok.
The in my tree was a great performance, very tight. One of my favorite versions ever.
Faithful has never sounded so clean before. The bootleg also represents this. Stones guitar is so thick and heavy. Awesome mix for that song at this show.
The progressional change of DTE also continued from Prague the show before and is now a permanent part of the song.
Immortality was great. Hard to imagine was great. The end was very nice also. Not played as much as just breathe.
Overall the 5 shows I did in the euro tour was well worth it. Each was unique in its own way. But what I'll always remember about this show is the ga floor taking off to why go and then to given to fly...
We need ga American shows! We did it in Missoula!0 -
I was there. In the sitting area with my wifey.
Never will forget how Eddie's voice filled the room in the initial moments of Long Road, which is a classic opener in Berlin.
You GA people would think the sitting area people watch it like a movie, but hell of a shit was going on around us. 8-)What's your part, who you are?
2012: Arras, Berlin 1-2
2013: Sao Paulo, Buenos Aires
2014: Milano, Trieste, Vienna, Berlin
2016: NY MSG 10 -
what a night...and the party after at the bar.......
ALL TO THE BOAT...
"...Dimitri...He talks to me...'.."The Ghost of Greece..".
"..That's One Happy Fuckin Ghost.."
“..That came up on the Pillow Case...This is for the Greek, With Our Apologies.....”0 -
Our first of 5 euro tour shows last year- also our first trip overseas period. Pearl Jam motivated me to do things that were unimaginable for me before.
Also my first show with my boyfriend, who I met here
this made it such a special night in itself. First of many to come!!
Long Road opener was perfect. PERFECT. This night brought me to tears a few times. Standouts to me were the 3 opening songs --long road followed by why go and given to fly kicked things off in an awesome way--later, always love me some In My Tree- Jeff being a huge part in why I love this song--Immortality, Daughter w/ Its Ok, HARD TO IMAGINE(!!!!), Once, leash, I forgot to mention Faithfull...
Being in the GA section, close enough to see everything on stage, the way the place was filled with the sound of like 20k people singing along. The jumpin and bouncing in waves! Being smashed up against all these strangers with smiles on those faces, everyone rocking out together. Makes me so happy every time I watch it. I hope someday to get to go back and do it again. Just truly amazing! Euro crowds really ARE awesome- it's true what everyone "over there" says!
2 of the most fantastic weeks of my life! Many of the tour highlights occurred for me at the other shows we attended last summer in Europe/Scandinavia, but Berlin 1 will always stand out in my memories.Makes much more sense...
2011: East Troy, WI 1 & 2; Toronto ON 1 & 2; Hamilton ON
