Happy 4th everybody. Despite our shortcomings as a nation, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. Here's to the land where I was born, where I'll live, and where I'll die.

Oh, btw, it would be nice to hear this played at Wrigley.

Happy 4th out there to all the fellow patriots and jammers, and most importantly, to the patriots out there that protect our freedoms every day. Hope everyone out there has a safe and happy 4th with family and friends, and of course, hope celebrate with some PJ music sprinkled in there somewhere.

Greatest country on the planet. America The Beautiful, baby.

Without getting too political here, prism isn't our country. Prism is hostility from the government and since the government isn't our country either, it's irrelevant.

The Unites States is defined by its constitution (the greatest ever written) and the Bill of Rights from which is born the liberty of its people. These documents are what makes the Unites States the greatest country the world has ever known and it is the responsibility of its people to partake in the constant struggle for justice in the face of the constant threat of tyranny, such as prism or any other abuse of power foreign or domestic.

    Happy 4th everyone.

And PS: if it's been awhile, today would be the perfect day to reacquaint yourselves with Thomas Paine, our greatest founding father.

a country is it's people, geography, history, culture (some government good and bad too)

hard to rank any country as best. have never liked or respected rankings/ best lists of countries, songs, restaurants etc... ... but along with some of our European friends...Canada and the USA are very close to the top of any "best country" chart!

Happy birthday from a neighbor to the North.

Really? .... I would say it's got some potential to be, and might even have been at one point, but is not there yet.... or anymore.

But in any case, I do love and admire a lot of things about the USA and it is a hell of a lot better than most places - happy July 4th to my American friends. :)

I didn't rain on anyone's Canada Day parade, did I?

"Greatest" is a bit vague and I won't go tit for tat here, but I'd be more than happy at another time to defend my statement against any other country (easily including Canada) under any parameters of your choosing.

    Cheers.

 Did we have a parade?? I missed it. Actually, if memory serves, peacefrompaul and 81 rained on whatever minor hurrah there was.
    Sorry.
I'm not interested in that argument. I was just sayin'. ;)
