Walking down the aisle songs

Hey fellow Pearl Jam lovers!

I'm getting married next May and my fiance and I want to use a Pearl Jam track when I'm walking down the aisle, we've decided on a track but when I told my mum and sisters (also Pearl Jam fans, mum's fault I'm so obsessed!) they didn't like my choice.

It's 'The End'.

I totally get it, it's not weddingy, and it's not a very romantic song but it's beautiful and we really like it.

I'm just wondering, do you guys think we should change it? What would you have?

(Also our first dance song is 'Babe I'm Gonna Leave You' - Led Zeppelin)

    and yes, the end is a very odd choice for a wedding.
    Yeh I've seen Pearl Jam, too. But I can't remember the dates.

    Congrats on the engagement!

    I have very strong feelings for that song and I think it is a depressing song....but I actually am not depressed by it at all - just makes me think of someone gone from this world.

    If you guys like it then rock with it - the whole day is about the two of you.

    I pushed for LZ's Thank You for our first dance but it was too long/crazy in its alternating pace. We did Fly Me To The Moon instead. Whimsical and fun rather than deep and meaningful.

    Congrats again and there are a few threads on here with other fans asking opinions on Wedding tunes from PJ - I am sure you can find some good reads if you search for them.

    Not Pearl Jam...but...

    For our wedding 4 years ago we did "Hard To Concentrate" by RHCP down the aisle and "House In The Woods" by Petty for our first dance.

    I hate when people pick the most popular or overplayed songs for their wedding stuff so good on you OP.

    Are you getting married or divorced?! :) Come on!... Definitely not The End and not Babe I'm Gonna Leave You. Please find a love song and also something more uplifting. As others said, there are plenty of threads on the forums about this topic. Good luck!

    congrats and all the best for your years ahead. our first dance 28 years ago was to ub40's 'i got you babe'. walking songs may be 'off he goes' or 'given to fly'? good luck

    My wife and I had Just Breathe as our wedding song, much more fitting than THE END! But it is a great song, we also were announced husband and wife and left the ceremony to Tuoloume, reminded us of all the excitment that lies ahead in our lives and of course the opening of the EV tours over the year!

    sorry but this is one of the biggest days in your life and should not be trivialized with a depressing pearl jam song. find something more appropriate and it doesn't have to be a pearl jam song that won't upset your mom and family. yes i know its your day but its a big day for parents too. to each his or her own but rock bands shouldn't consume so much of ones life.

    I am actually getting married tomorrow and have created a pretty Pearl Jam-heavy cocktail hour mix with lots of Beatles and a few other classic artists. The Pearl Jam-related tracks I chose are a little more up-lifting than The End. Here are the tracks I chose:

    Can't Help Falling in Love (Holiday Single)
    Soldier of Love (Holiday Single)
    Parachutes (Live at the Vic)
    Given to Fly (PJ20 Instrumental)
    Better Days (Holiday Single)

    This is what I did for my wedding. We got married on a yacht and after the ceremony we cruised around the Marina for an hour & a half and mingled with the guests before going back for the reception. I was *allowed* (:)) to select the music for the post ceremony mixer and there was a lot of PJ in there.

    I bartended a wedding in April where the bride walked down the aisle to "Just Breathe", it was really cool.

    I used "Wishlist" for a picture slideshow and also had a "Strung out on Pearl Jam" CD where PJ songs were played by string instruments...it worked perfect during dinnertime

    I'm getting married next year and I'll use Low Light, which is not a romantic song, but it is sooo beautiful..

    In fact, The End iss odd, but if you really like it I don't see any problem... Congrats!

    just breathe would be more suitable, but you can play also picture in a frame... or without you or even longing to belong...

    Babe, I'm gonna leave you sounds like a crazy choice for first dance song.

    BUT

    The End is really beautiful. And if you'll be able to make a smooth passage from THe End's

    "I am here, but not much longer" directly to Babe, I am gonna leave you

    it will be a hilarious wedding, I am certain.
