Yep.
Agree. Kind of a disappointment. Lots of things I thought would happen didn't. Boo. Stannis still bores me to death.
It would have been a mistake for them to try and match the red wedding. There is still so much more to come in season 4. I thought it set up next year very well with the direction the pieces are moving on the board....got a mind full of questions and a teacher in my soul...0 -
I thought the opening scene with the council was tremendous from start to finish. Not as shocking as the RW but just as good.Alright, alright, alright!

There were some big things i thought we were going to get this season that they pushed to next. Next season might be pretty awesome they have a lot of big moments that should come early next season.
I guess it is kind of hard to wrap it up since they are in the middle of a book..
Pretty much this. I was really hoping that this season would deal with a few other things and make it the most mind-numbing season of a show in a long time. As it was it was still fantastic and it leaves much mystery for Season 4 and how they will put book 3 and parts of book 4+5 in there together. Pretty cool not knowing what they will or wont put in, I think it actually added to making this season even cooler. The love he receives is the love that is saved0 -

I'm about five episodes behind cause I'm trying to finish the book ... but I'm pretty sure I just got to the chapter in the book that set the internet on fire last week ... The Red Wedding.

My husband - once again, he hasn't read the books - he said he thought the Dany stuff wasn't as good this season and he wasn't sure what was going on with her half the time. And he really really loves her.
Hodor is so great. You have to shout his name along with him.0 -

I'm just about finished with the first book. I love the Dany stuff during the first season up through Qarth. Since then I dunno if it's been too easy for her or just kinda the same thing over and over that's bugging me. The bath scene and the fucking up the slave trader are the only memorable scenes for me lately.
Every time Hodor pops up I start Hodoring. I only wish I had a kickass well.0 -
There is a good article on IGN.com (sorry I can't provide the link, company computer doesn't allow me to go to IGN). It's a post-season talk with the writers. Essentially they explain how tough it's going to be going forward with this show due to budgets, the number of characters coming in the next couple of books, the kids aging, catching up to the books, the current actors contracts expiring, them moving on to other stuff, etc.
Check it out. Pretty much everything I thought of back in season 1.
One of the interesting things is how IF they catch up to the books, how they might do a real "pre-qual" show in order to give Martin time to finish. I would hate to wait, but if they did a prequal, it would be cool to see Robert's rebellion or something. Too bad Ned Stark would have to be re-casted though as Sean Bean is getting old and really couldn't pose as a 25 year old! :?0 -

I like your idea of a prequel better than what I believe I read/saw when the subject was raised with GRRM and the writers....which was they would do the series even if the books werent out yet. Which I cannot fathom. Please in the name of all that is hodor, please do not do this! The love he receives is the love that is saved0 -
I think the prequels they are talking about woudl be the Dunk and Egg tales. Which would be cool.
I was surprised they put Grey Wind's head on Rob. I was worried they woudl not do that. I wish we got a better look at it though. i wanted it to be as messed up as i imagined it when i read it.Charlotte 00 | Charlotte 03 | Asheville 04 | Atlanta 12 | Greenville 16 | Columbia 16 |Seattle 18 | Nashville 22 | Ohana Festival 24 x2 | Atlanta 25 x20 -

It would also help if GRRM was not writing and editing for every other thing in the Sci-Fi/fantasy universe and concentrated on getting the series done....got a mind full of questions and a teacher in my soul...0 -

Yeah, I hear ya.
But I dont begrudge the guy his time in the sun. Went a lot of years with marginal success despite what I consider to be great output. And now it is not just the dork-book-lovers that embrace him but also the mainstream.
(One of my best friends told me last week that my dork heaven was going to fade out quickly but at least he has a glimpse into why I love these books so much. One year I read all of David Gemmell's works and that friend called me Gemmell or Dork for the next year.)
