when a word is sung like what it means...

Is there a term for when a singer sings a word in a way that suggests the meaning of the word? I think Ed does this brilliantly. An example would be the way he sings "cringe" in "Sometimes". It sounds just like he's cringing. Anybody have other examples?

Exactly. It's not like onomatopoeia where the word sounds like what it means, but where the singer MAKES the word sound like what it means. I'm trying to think of another... Eddies so good at singing things and adding emotion to them, but sometimes he really sort of illustrates the word with his phrasing, tone, pitch, attitude.. Maybe when he sings "burn" in "Nothingma", it sort of has a burnt, dry sound to it. Maybe I'm having a bit of Synesthesia! (when people can see sounds and hear colors, etc..)

Living is no laughing matter: you must live with great seriousness like a squirrel for example - I mean without looking for something beyond and above living, I mean living must be your whole occupation.
