You and a guest will have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to attend an exclusive dinner hosted by President Bill Clinton and two-time Academy Award winner and advocate Ben Affleck on Friday, June 7, 2013, at a private home in Beverly Hills, California and meet both hosts.

The evening will celebrate the life-changing global work of the Clinton Foundation and Eastern Congo Initiative. Guests will enjoy cocktails, followed by a three-course meal prepared by one of New York's most beloved and respected Italian chefs, Scott Conant. The evening will also feature a conversation with President Clinton and Ben with the audience, and will culminate in a special musical performance by the legendary Eddie Vedder.

The proceeds for this item will jointly benefit the Clinton Foundation and Eastern Congo Initiative.

About the Clinton Foundation
The Clinton Foundation works to improve global health, strengthen economies, promote health and wellness, and protect the environment by fostering partnerships among governments, businesses, nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), and private citizens to turn good intentions into measurable results. Haaa. True. I think he might despise him, but what matters is the 2013 vedder is cool with 2013 vedder. Its hard to crush him when the money is for a cause, ya know?

Sounds like the dinner is only with Clinton and Affleck, Ed is just performing. Definitely not worth it in that case.

I find all this talk about what 1992 Vedder would think of 2013 Vedder weird. It would be more interesting and at least possible to find out what 2013 Vedder thinks of 1992 Vedder. Eddie is now a much more educated, realistic and centred person than he was in the early 90's. Surely that added level of muturity would make that a much more relevant opinion. Thats right most people think 1992 Vedder opinion and ideas are beter ebcause thats the music period they like.

If anything I would say it makes the rumor less likely. If you didn't know, Beverly Hills is pretty far from Chicago.

No, the charity is the understandable part. The despise would come from the fact that someone has to pay 35k to watch him play music. You think 1992 eddie would be cool with that? Im sure 1992 eddie wouldnt have pictured being sold as a package with a filandering ex president and a movie star. But my point is that 2013 eddie is different, and if he ok with that, it's fine.

Who really cares what the 1992 or 2013 Eddies would think of each other?
He's doing what he wants to do now and he did what he wanted to do then.
The only person that those thoughts and feelings would be relevant and important to is ED himself.
And obviously he's cool with it.

    Carry on. :corn:

I would tend to agree with this statement but for one thing: Eddie shouted his opinions at us all for a decade. Eddie built a fan base in part because of his integrity and social/political opinions.

I'm not saying this to argue but saying that Eddie wasn't just some average private citizen who talked to his buddies over dinner about politics.

Great that they can raise money for a good cause.

I agree. We certainly are independent thinkers and should form our own conclusions. Hell, I disagree with Ed on probably 80% of his politics but respect him because I believe he geniunely cares for the common good. But because he is a public figure and certainly made politics/social issues a big part of his public persona I think we can enjoy a good debate on whether we agree or disagree (and potential vent some dissapointment). For example, the private shows for corporations. If you want to raise money for charity why not play a couple shows for your fans and donate the proceeds? Who knows, maybe there was more to those private gigs.

As I type this I understand how pathetic it sounds. Need a better hobby than that :).
