The us governments treatment of its veterans is disgusting

How much longer will the "slaves" keep defending and dying for the political and economical greed of their government?

now you mention it..i was just wondering..
    .what actually veteran means??
guys went to vietnam or ww2 for years, are the same "veterans ,with a guy working with a laptop at a base 500 miles from a war zone?..when he comes baxk after a year,is he a veteran too?

The definition I believe is anyone who serves, so yes they would both be veterans. But Memorial Day is primarily about veterans who were killed while in the service and to a lesser extent those who passed away later in life. We have Veterans Day in November which is when all veterans, both living and dead, are honored.

While the technical definition of "veteran" is - a person who has served in a military force, especially one who has fought in a war, I believe there's a difference between one in the line of fire vs one not on the battlefield.

Each, though, contribute in ways intrinsic to...war (I hate putting it that way).

thanks for that, cos i was remember that day at november..and got confused what that means...
i have much respect people wear uniform and serve their country and always need to be honored the ones gave their life...
as for how goverment treat them,i think is worldwide problem..most of the times the way they treat them, sucks
however..isnt as used to be..now go serve your country is just a job opportunity
not the same meaning used to be..
