Not trolling at all. Is prejudice in the modern world not a topic worth discussing? If a particular post serves as as an example of that prejudice - and, again, I do believe you were trying to be provocative far more than you were hoping to discuss civil liberties - doesn't it become a worthwhile discussion?

If this 'prejudice' you keep spouting about is so 'clear', then why is it that only Godfather agrees with you? Funny that.

Feel free to start another thread on the subject of 'prejudice' if you like, and stop derailing this one with your bullshit.

Indeed, "prejudicial hatred" were my words and I stand by them. Hugh, after reading Polaris X's contribution yesterday do you still believe the prejudice I describe does not exist on this board?

I do believe that prejudice does not exist on this board. Prejudice is defined as having an opinion on something without prior knowledge. I have never seen a post on this board, to my recollection, of anyone saying anything bad about the US government and/or its policies without having a reason to state such an issue. I have seen the direct opposite however, Americans thumping their chests about how great America is without anything tangible to back that up.

and hatred is an awfully strong word. I don't think anyone here hates the US. As someone has pointed out numerous times, myself included, hating a geographical location is a preposterous idea. People have issues with the US government and military sticking their noses in the world's business. It wouldn't matter who was doing the sticking; if it were Canada, Britain, or Palestine, Byrnzie et al would still have issue with it. Don't take it personally because it's your government.

My (Canadian) government currently sucks too. But you don't hear much about it because it doesn't affect the world stage nearly as much as the US government does.

As I said in my original post in this thread, many are blind that this prejudice exists. But a widely accepted prejudice is really no less repulsive when you think about it.

Ah, I see now: only you can see this 'widely accepted', 'clear prejudice', and repulsive 'hatred'. Thanks for clearing that up for me.

Allowing the US government cart blanch to monitor your private conversations is a big deal and people should be aware. As such this thread is a perfect topic for MT.

Feel that people get so caught up in their “patriotism” that when one criticises the government they take it as a personal attack on them. It’s not.

I embrace outsiders ideas and views on the US as we get force fed the same manure from our government and news (entertainment) sources.

And fk Israel policy for stealing land and fk the West for supporting it.

So happy I live in the US but there are some really fked up things about this country and its people like Byrnzie brining up the BS that makes this country better.:clap::clap:

Every idea starts small. Hopefully you can open a few eyes here and there.

I wish you the best of luck with that. Doesn't look like your lame smear campaign's doing too well at the moment though.

Is pointing out someone's clear prejudice a personal attack? Maybe, maybe not. If someone was a racist or a sexist or a homophone and that person got called out for it, would that constitute a personal attack? But pretending one had been attacked sure would be an easy way out.

Pointing out someone's 'clear prejudice' may not constitute a personal attack, but when no such prejudice exists other than in your head, and when your lame accusation is clearly just a means to smear and insult someone who's views you disagree with, then yes, it is a personal attack. And it also constitutes trolling.

If you have a problem with me then either pm me, or complain to the mods. Stop derailing my thread with your bullshit.

Jimmy V has a problem with me and wants the World to know that I'm filled with hateful, repulsive prejudice against America and Americans.

Good morning. Welcome to the debate. :P

No, but if that someone seems to be enjoying themselves just a little too much while they tell me my house is burning, I am going to question why that is.

Probably a wooden nickel's worth, but I think you're both alright fellows - have learned well more than a little something from each of you.

That said, I read "welcome to the debate" as "welcome to the machine".

    Indeed :)

Based on his posts recently, I imagine he'd choose to spend more time judging and criticizing the person than addressing the issue at hand.
