I just read an article linking it to the prevention of diabetes.
Makes me nuts how willfully deaf, dumb & blind some are to the benefits of this plant.0

My co-worker and good friend has diabetes and won't smoke marijuana, but he smokes half a pack of cigarates a day :fp:0

I was hanging out with this guy the other day who was drunk and all fucked up on pills. He was telling me that he couldn't smoke weed because of his diabetes, and I asked him, "Why? I've never heard that before." He proceeded to tell me, "I don't know why. I just can't. I'd like to, because I really love it." I asked him if it was a doctor's recommendation, or if there was any scientific reason why he couldn't. He had no answer for me, still. The whole thing didn't really make much sense. 5 minutes later, with no arm twisting required, he took a puff, his first in a few years 0 0

This didn't work so well for my ex. He smoked lots o' pot, but I think it gave him the munchies, which messed up his blood sugar levels.
Same goes for Crohn's, really. You have to be ridiculously diligent about watching what you eat when trying to deal with digestive system issues. Cravings can throw that out the window in no time flat.
Can you smoke pot and NOT get the munchies?I carried a watermelon0

Sorry about your ex. I think diligence (or at the least, moderation) has to be observed as with most things. I admire those who can and do exercise that discipline.adropinthepark wrote:This didn't work so well for my ex. (speaking of which, god do I know about cravings! and sometimes giving in to them)
In the pot realm though, certain strains tickle different parts of us. The stuff we just got this evening is beautifully strong but no mental lures toward food.
