    Just watched "Stop Making Sense".......

    Mind = blown

    Simple as that.

    Yeah, it's brilliant.

I'm a big TH fan. Loved them as a kid in the 80's, lost track of them for a while, and then picked up the DVD-Audio surround sound "Brick" set several years ago and fell back in love with them.

...and they are now my 2 year old daughter's favorite band. No joke. She is infatuated with them.

    Some of my favorites:

    Don't Worry About The Government
    Girlfriend Is Better
    Crosseyed & Painless
    Live During Wartime
    Blind
This Must Be The Place (Naive Melody)
    Pulled Up
    City Of Dreams
    (Nothing But) Flowers
    What A Day That Was
    Road To Nowhere
    Wild Wild Life
    The Great Curve
    Once In A Lifetime
    Cities
    I Zimbra
    Found A Job
    Heaven

and of course: Burning Down The House. I mean, c'mon...
Bright eyed kid: "Wow Typo Man, you're the best!"
Typo Man: "Thanks kidz, but remembir, stay in skool!"

Love these guys, anyone got an idea where to start with them? Or should I start chronologically, and get the first proper album and work from there?

Go Chronologically. '77 is an all time great album.

I agree, but to me they really get interesting starting with album #3

I agree. But, also a reason to start at the beginning. I prefer doing that anyway as it shows the way the band builds. Sometimes the issue is if you start with the later (and theoretically more mature) stuff, the earlier stuff gets harder to get into/understand. And this is a band you definitely want to wrap your head around before you get too far ahead of yourself.

That's a bummer, I last saw him play here in Palm Beach at Sunfest with the PFunk Allstars with George Clinton in '08. I did see him in his prime with Parliament Funkadelic in '78 and '79 then later with Talking Heads in '84. He will be missed. RIP

The show was well choreographed. The stage was clear of equipment and the band danced and marched it's way around. The setlist is the same each night I assume for this reason. Around half a dozen solo songs and 8-10 Talking Heads songs with a few covers. His voice is still spot on after all these years. The TH songs sounded close to the originals for the most part. Danced the night away. This Must Be the Place brought a tear to my son's eye and was the highlight for me.
