I always thought we were suppose to get 2 of these a year???
we were supposed to get two a year... but that slacked off about 3 or 4 years ago and they've only been sending out one since....
And, well, let's be honest, there's not really much to the magazines anymore. The only thing in them with any depth is the interview article from a band member, and that seems to be getting shorter, and less coherent, every time they issue it. That last interview with mike was barely readable.
$10/mag seems a bit much, for something that is mostly filled with flat pictures and a recipe. Maybe I don't have much to go by - the only magazines I get these days are my Beer Advocate (12 x 65 page issues for $9.99), and my Zymurgy (6 issues x 70+pages, plus membership discounts at bars across america and other cool perks for $42)....
Frankly they should just mail these out to anyone who wants them and is willing to pay a $1 for the postage... you're doing them a favor by getting them out of the warehouse where they're probably doing nothing but collecting silverfish...
but anyway... :fp:
Houston, Texas... Believe it or not, there are 7 million people here... must be a couple of fans who'd love to see you play.
Issues are $10/ea which includes shipping and handling.

$10 is pretty outrageous. I've paid less for a year long monthly magazine subscriptions, full of stuff actually worth reading.
Couldn't agree more. There's not a whole lot to them. Apparently people think they're great collectors items or something. They should be free, with maybe like $3 shipping or something like when you could pick up old christmas singles through the site. If you buy 4 of those, its $40. Really?
these TC folks sure got a lot of nerve tryin to make a few bucks by sellin' stuff in a store.
what is this world coming too?!

So if we can get the Deep mag and the holiday vinyl in the 10c store, really what is the point of the analog membership?!?!? I might as well go digital, buy the mag & vinyl separately and save myself 10 bucks
+ the free code for the bootleg and thats the maths are correct total 50..
i guess is better deal for the American friends!!
Yeah, if you get the analog you save a bit of money over buying each thing separately..if you get lucky enough to buy it through the store.
They always make extras in case someone doesn't get theirs or it's damaged or whatever. I bet these are just the surplus.

I know. It is like people expect the store to be a thrift shop.
It is clear that people love supporting mom and pop shops and small businesses (which PJ is one) until they have to start paying mom and pop prices. This is never going to be Wal-Mart pricing.

PJ is a small business??? Ummm.
What was that article about Eddie Vedder's net worth on the richest lead singer chart a while back?
(and I'm not saying he doesn't deserve it, he does... but it was not small business amounts we're talking here)

I don't expect the pearl jam shop to be a thrift store, or comparable to wal-mart pricing.... but $10 for a single magazine that is maybe 20-30 pages of "content" is outrageous. I really don't see how anyone could consider that price reasonable, especially for the last couple of issues where the quality of the content has really struggled and the magazine is most just picture collages. but that's just my opinion. if i expected the shop to be a "thrift shop" i'd be looking for $3 t-shirts and $5 pants....
I suspect that the only reason these are for sale on the website is because they were taking up valuable space in the warehouse and selling them off could free up some space (and reduce an bug problems - paper products are one of the biggest sources of bugs in storage facilities).
I really find it hard to believe that anyone would purchase magazines at that price....

More to Come....
Those magazines need you so that they can get income from advertisers as much if not more than they need your subscription dollars.
TC may price them at $10 so that people who actually want the magazine buy it versus people paying a $1 since it is only a $1.

you and Demitiros...
I've gotten a lot more selective about my purchases since we bought a house... $10 for 1 magazine doesn't do it for me these days...
