    thanks folks,

    but thread integrity,

it might have been good if someone tried to debate him to show what an unenlightened ass this guy was about this.
or just ignore him as the troll he is. NOW he has a national/worldwide audience and has his 15 minutes so to speak.
Yes, a woman wearing revealing clothing is going to get my attention but thats as far as it should go.

as for the greater aspect of speech brought up a few posts ago, as hard as it may be sometimes, well theres a reason its in the first amendment. we have to take the good with the bad. Its the way we are set up.

a friend of mine who has rather sociopathic apsects to his personality approached my dad about paying a visit. My father couldnt have that on his conscience.

back in 2006 that guy was gut shot in an alley after an illegal cardgame. Killer has never been found to my knowledge.

I agree that one takes the good and the bad but what concerns me is that, of course he has his 15 minutes of fame but, as said, he is part of a growning part of the population that listen to this kind of stuff, find that it suits them and agree with it. We have politicians claiming the same thing. This kind of condoning could potentially be far reaching, eg in bringing the rapist to justice, the whole process and the punishment. In this case, it's women 'asking for it' was the issue, but this is just one example of despicable rhetoric spewed about.

But as you said... for each and every one of these, there should (and must!) be a louder voice to counteract....

heres the thing, imo, this has always been so. whats happening now is these guys with this mindset are being exposed for the assholes they are. Look at the fucking dickwads that ran for office with fucked up ideas about a variety of womans issues.

The outpouring of support for that young lady from W Virginia raped by those now convicted jocks is a positive taken out of that horrific experience. People ARE speaking up for whats right to counter this attitude. Change is slow in coming though.

    the rapist.

the friend is in prison , eligible for parole in 2032? or maybe its 2035. murder. supposedly posed as a cop busting a drug deal in a hotel room. gun specification as a prior felon. He of course claims innocence. I think he is absolutely capable of it. Funny though, I was never nervous around him.

odd shit, let me tell you.

I carried hatred for him ( myself too) for 18 years. I was in drug/alcohol treatment center when I read a story in the newspaper on the 4th about a blockwatch cookout held earlier in the day of the 2nd and how this guy was shot that night in the alley behind that same house.

he died on Aug 2 2006 at about 9:00 pm or so. Right around this same time I was reciting the prayer for step 3 of alcoholics anonymous.

Somehow my first thought was for his family and what they must be going through. I ended up going to his funeral. With the repsect the event deserved

I would have thought that too.

All that hate and illwill was just gone. Poof.

this is how I'm quite sure there is some kind of power at work in the universe. Much greater than me.

Bingo. I too echo the condolences and well-wishes. Bravo to you and the resolve and strength I'm sure it's taken to get to...today.

redrock, good question on free speech. I feel like I have to support it, even the ridiculous hateful kind. Not the sentiments themselves but the ability to proclaim them. Even the sick lost soul carrying the sign.

As mickeyrat said, it exposes them.

I'd rather know who these shit-mongers are than they keep quiet and carry on their hate behind a curtain.

(PS...hope your lovely daughter is having fun tonight and that you keep on poof'ing ;) )

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing.

Condolences to you Mickeyrat, regardless how much time has past, it still sounds so tragic. You're quite strong to recognize the universe at work and to let it be.

As for the guy with the sign? Well, people who lack security need attention any way that they can get it. It's best to either carry our own signs or to just ignore him.

In my book... no one DESERVES to be victimized. In the case of rape, it lies 100% on the rapist.
It has nothing to do with the way a woman dresses... or her modesty. If this were true, then the women who cover themselves from head to toe in burquas would be the most respected, well treated women in the world. We all know, this is no the case.
If a guy can't control himself because a woman wears a mini-skirt... or a tight t-shirt... or a bathing suit... or smiles at him... or makes eye contact with him... that is his problem, not hers.
Also, rape is typically about power, not sex. A rapist will go after someone they can dominate... regardless of how she looks or how she is dressed.
    ...
As for this person mentioned in the original post... man, would i love to talk to this guy. Seriously, I would. I love talking to crazy people... like the ones foolish enough to press my doorbell and ask me if I've heard the word of God, yet.

Spent the past 2 weeks in Hawaii... pretty much surf and sushi the whole time. Missed you, too.
Speaking of which... you guys should check out J.Ament's band. They are going to be at the Bootleg Theater on Beverly Blvd. on may 8th. Or.. next time we're at Largo... we should meet up at Sushi On La Cienega (a bit pricey, but great) or Swingers (Beverly, near Fairfax).

I'm quite sure my younger sister wasnt asking for it as she waited for our mom to get home since she forgot her key that day.

I'm quite sure she didnt think she needed to be "prepared" for the douchebag older brother of the boy she liked taking her into the laundry room of the apt building and raping and beating her.

I'm also quite sure she thought he would be convicted.

Fucking shame then she lost on all counts and decided suicide was a better option. 25 years gone now.

Fuck nut ended up doing 6 months on a plea my father approved to have it finished.
Oh wow, I'm so sorry Mickeyrat, that's so incredibly sad. I don't wish to go into it but I can say that no woman is asking for it. Thoughts like that come from stupid fucking morons that are either rapists themselves or just can't get any. That dick brain needs to come talk to some victims and let them bash the living shit out of him.
