Peak of Ed's voice or what? I think different members have different times they peaked..0

just graduated high school, this was the summer going into college. me and a bunch of buddies packed a mini van and drove from north jersey down to VA beach for the first show of the north american leg, stayed down there for about a week. fantastic times of underage drunken debauchery.
then at the end of the same month, me and the same knuckleheads drove out to long island three nights in a row for the jones beach shows. great way to cap off the summer.
without a doubt the peak of their live performances. the european boots are in constant rotation and i would give anything to go back in time to go see one of these shows live.Post edited by rival. on0 -

I think Mike is pretty strong now also. Those 2012 boots sound pretty good. Ed's voice is slowly going though..0

'98 was awesome, but lacking binaural tunes in the set lists :P0 -

For those dismissing the 03 tour...Sloppy? If you think 03 is sloppy you must be appalled by everything since 08. Great setlists, amazing energy from the band, and Ed taking really pushing his voice when he actually could push his voice.0 -

I don't get the love for the 2003 Tour. I think the New York, Boston and Mexico shows at the tail end
of the tour kind of masked what was a dip for Peal Jam.
Riot Act wasn't selling well, and they were playing to half full arenas in The Southern states. The fans turned on them while playing Bu$hleaguer! Ok that last point may be kind of cool now, but at the time the band were pretty shaken up about it.
I think it was a small percentage of people walking out at Denver, it was made into a bigger thing than it was by the media. And obviously there is the booing at Nassau but when you see the coverage of that it's not that bad.
Love both tours, some great shows on 2003 such as Penn State, Dallas, Bonner Springs and Holmdel and of course the Mansfield. There is quite alot of the 2003 bootlegs I've not listened to yet. I think last year was been the tightest they've been live since 2006.betterday52 wrote:On the new Big Bang Theory, 4/25/2013 in Roger's office behind his chair was a Binaural Poster of the PJ Cover Art :-)
I think that's more to do with the Hourglass Nebula than in direct relation to Pearl Jam but still cool to see!2000: Manchester
2006: Dublin; Leeds; Arnhem
2007: London
2009: Manchester
2012: Manchester I & II : EV Manchester : Soundgarden Shepherds Bush
2013: Brad Manchester : Soundgarden Manchester
2014: Amsterdam I & II; Berlin; Leeds; Milton Keynes
2018: Berlin; London II; Boston II

Add Champaign, Indy, St Louis, Buffalo, Philly to that list.
Even if their playing is the best it's been since 06, it still doesn't come close to 98-04. And I think the tightness has detracted from their sound. They used to have such a loose groove that was tight but not rigid like it is on the more recent show I've seen.0 -
I've listened so much to the bootlegs from this tour, and I love them. It's been awhile since I've listened to them now, need to give them a spin soon again. I saw my first show on this tour. Unfortunately this was at Roskilde. I remember talking to friend on the phone when I had already arrived to Roskilde. He had seen the Hamburg show and was so happy that he had gotten to hear Baba O'Riley and Crazy Mary, which were quite the rarities at this time. I was so hoping they were going to pull at least on of those out for the Roskilde show. Well we I guess we will always remember what happened that night...2000: Roskilde
2006: Sydney I,II,III
2007: London, Copenhagen
2008: MSG I,II
2009: Manchester, London
2010: London
2011: Toronto I,II, Ottawa, Hamilton
2012: Berlin I,II, Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen0 -
Was at uniondale show in 03 and it wasnt a big deal. I wish pj20 showed eds speech after the song and he got the crowd back immediately. 2000 jones beach shows were as inspired as any ive seen. Agree w those that think binaural and riot act tours were the peak.He was ok but wondering about wandering0

Would love some officially mastered 1998 boots to compare with 2000, as the 98-00 era is clearly their peak.Come to send, not condescend...0
