What what? Is this an official release from Music On Vinyl or a bootleg?

In my experience w/ SoundStageDirect, they sell legit stuff. And I have picked up a few MOV titles from them.

I just question, why isn't it listed over on http://www.musiconvinyl.com/ 's database?
Maybe it's hot / fresh which will be updated soon?

    My aura is purple.
And so you see, I have come to doubt
All that I once held as true
    I stand alone without beliefs
The only truth I know is you.

I ordered my Jar of Flies/Sapp from Soundstage on Orange/Blue vinyl.
It was all good they pack everything really well but they charged me $20 to ship to Canada.

MOV sounds great but the outer bags are crap.
Since they are imports from Holland MOV always cost more.

All said and done this Mother Love Bone cost me just under $70 CDN shipped!
Kinda ridiculous if you ask me!

Oh well, RSD on Saturday here we go.... :fp: lol

    From MOV's site:

    ABOUT MUSIC ON VINYL

Music On Vinyl is a vinyl only record label that releases high quality 180g LP and 7" vinyl pressings of titles licensed from a wide range of record companies and artists who control their own repertoire.

These are both re-issues of classic titles, or a simultaneous vinyl release to compliment a CD/DVD release, all marketed under the Music On Vinyl brand, which vinyl lovers worldwide recognize as a trusted name providing a superb LP vinyl product.

As for our sources; We are provided with the best possible (analogue) masters available. On top of that, our sound engineer has over 35 years of experience in cutting and mastering records for (major) labels.

I don't doubt Music On Vinyl's validity. The fact that their site says nothing about Mother Love Bone's release is what causes me to doubt this album from soundstagedirect. It's not even a reissue of Apple or Shine, it's just some mashup of all their songs.
    Tread Lightly.

Until Music On Vinyl says something about this release, I will assume it's an unauthorized bootleg.

Yeah I almost jumped at this but sometimes I wonder about the stuff this site sells. I don't think this is an official release by the band. More of a bootleg copy that they're calling limited edition.

Its a legit release. I have this on CD. Came with a bonus disc. Its the vinyl version of an official MLB release - after Andy's death. No bootleg man.

Its a legit CD release. Bought it in 1993 and again a few years ago.

I just pre-ordered, is there any way to know if you scored a purple one or do you just have to wait to see when it comes in the mail?

Assuming that all goes well with it being legit and what not.

I would assume that you'd just find out when you get it. I just ordered a copy too, hoping for that purple!

Is it possible its a premature posting? Sort of like how MOV was going to release singles and mad season on vinyl but never came out (although I suppose Mad Season is coming out so that's different).

I'd be interested in buying it but it does seem a tad bit steep. It doesn't say the 1500 purple ones are limited to Soundstage? Maybe they'll make their rounds?
Mad Season is actually NOT a MOV release.

Tim at What Records erroneously listed it as a MOV release on the website when they took pre-orders...it is a Legacy release.

Not a MOV release? But why is it listed over on MOV's official website?

    Mad Season RSD!

    Mad Season RSD!
Honestly, I'm so fucking confused right now.

The US RSD release is a Legacy/Columbia release. There's no MOV logo on the back on the album (that I can see)

MOV goes on to claim that the Mad Season album is not only limited to (numbered) 5000, but also say that, 'once their gone, they're gone' on their FB page on the 4th of this month:

Looks like I need to pick up this MLB album, thanks for the link!

Legacy is distributing in the U.S., MOV is distributing in the UK. I bet the MOV copies won't have the Legacy logo.

Also, MOV tends to announce (via e-mail/website) their releases closer to the release date, while retailers like Sound Stage would have details of a new product (Mother Love Bone) way ahead of that to take pre-orders like they're doing now.

I wish, hope and bet that the purple ones are sold for the ones who buy from MOV... imo, what SSD is doing isn't 100% ethical, maybe, 70%... that 1500 purple ones are just a catch...

Edit: I never needed to purchase something from MOV, and my fav artists aren't released on MOV. I've just learnt that MOV doesn't sell directly to the consumer, and I wonder why on earth? So, what I wrote above is completely nonsense, and a totally waste of your time, my bad, and my apologies...

MOV doesn't sell their products directly to the consumer. They manufacture and distribute. Retailers like Sound Stage sell the product. What is unethical here?

I edited above - MOV is the manufacturer and distributor.
