Really digging him, not a big country fan but for some reason enjoy his style.
Only listened to a little more than a handful of songs but wondering if anyone can recommend some more, or a good album of his.

I like him. I'm not a fan, but I started getting acquainted with some of his songs two years ago. I cannot recommend you any album, I can suggest you a fairly good book though: I'll Never Get Out of This World Alive.Athens 2006 / Milton Keynes 2014 / London 1&2 2022 / Seattle 1&2 2024 / Dublin 2024 / Manchester 2024 / New Orleans 20250

El Corazon is my favorite album. Copperhead Road is great too. If you're a fan but don't like traditional country you should check out Guy Clark an Townes Van Zandt too. This show, another show, a show here and a show there.0

My only experience with him is the 2002 Key Arena PJ shows. Didn't like him at all. Just wasn't my thing.0

U should chk out his son. Harlem River Blues is a great album.0

Saw him solo and acoustic in 2010. Played something like 27 songs and a lot of interaction with the crowd. Has great self-deprecating sense of humour (Joked alot about the 80s and how he couldn't remember them because of his drug use "After I cleaned up, I realized 'shit, I wrote a fuckload of good songs!")Ottawa 2011
London 2013 "The Dundas Hookers on Crack" Show0 -
He gets a little too country and a lot too bluegrass at times, but he's got a ton of straightforward singer/songwriter material like dylan or bruce or westerberg, and he's fucking great at it. Check out ellis unit one, ft worth blues, the other kind, billy austin, john brown's blues, fearless heart, christmastime in washington, amerika v2.0, here i am, and with the supersuckers he covered nirvana's breed and the stones' before they make me run. Hes an interesting guy too, 7 ex wives, time in jail, actor, author, country music outcast, socialist... like an outlaw woody guthrie. Really looking forward to seeing him in niagara falls next month.0

I need to check out more of his stuff. Copperhead Road is a staple at any proper country bar and a great song. I really love his song Galway Girl. If you've seen P.S. I love you there's a scene where Gerard Butler sings it. Here's a great live performance by Steve.

I have a few others on the iPod. I guess I need to do some more exploring. :think:0
