you never lift a perfect game.....unless there is an injury...

he's up to what 107 pitches? he stays in until the game is over, or a hit is surrendered. period

Yea, i know that & you know that, but the way they BABY these pitchers now-a-days nothing would've surprised me.

How many pitches did Strasburg throw? 80? in ONLY 7 innings!!!

:fp: didnt the guy have elbow surgery or something? I think i'd prefer they try to preserve his arm, to some degree..

ps - ytoo bad for Darvish. That fucking blows.

like two years ago. last year they shut him down after 180 innings or so.

i think it depends on the person more than the pitch count. some pitchers can throw 120 no issue, some can barely throw 20

I agree. Also, the coaches need to know when a pitcher is laboring or trying to overcompensate for fatigue. I watched some report last year and that's when alot of injuries and re-injuries occur.

I think that was around Sept. 2010 when he had that surgery. Nats did the preserving last year. Time to take the kid-gloves off?

The A's just sent up 13 batters in the 5th against the Astros.
Welcome to the A.L. West, Houston.............I almost feel sorry for them.

Story on the news last night of all the signs fans held up during the game. My fave, after Hamilton dissed Rangers fans during spring saying that there aren't any "real" baseball fans in Texas because if there were they would get why he signed with the Angels:

4 guys each holding a sign:
I AM A REAL BASEBALL FAN
    AND I GET IT
    I BURNED MY HAMILTON JERSEY
